You need to get your facts straight. Other posters were asking where I was. I made the decision not to post picks on the forum anymore and to offer a service if people were interested. He answered the posters' questions. It wasn't a promotion. He directed them on how to contact me if they wanted information. That's not advertising or 'touting.' That's a simple response to a simple question. He didn't start any 'contact Dsethi' thread so please get your facts straight.

Dude, there is a contact dsethi thread started by your brother in the SP forum with 21K views filled with email links on how to contact you for your paid service. Thats not advertising? LOL
thats a boldface lie!
Just go look at it.

Now you are starting to look stupid.

I hope you have refunded everyone and will stop with the scumbag tout business. I try and hold my toungue, but I despise people who prey on dumb fish.

Do you despite all financial advisers? Aside from having to pass a test, what are the differences between financial advisers and touts?

- Both are trusted to make sound financial decisions with others' money
- No honest one in either profession guarantees profit; rather, the only guarantee is one's best effort
- There are dishonest ones in both professions
- Good, honest ones in both professions don't "prey on dumb fish"

There are plenty more similarities, of course, but those are just a few.

If you came across a lawyer who hiked up fees and extended sessions to drive up the hours billed, would you think every lawyer is a scumbag? Of course not. Just like if you came across one or even a few dishonest insurance salesmen or landscapers, you wouldn't assume that every single one of them was dishonest.

To make a blanket generalization about all handicappers who charge for their picks is painfully ignorant, especially painful because you seem like an intelligent person. Maybe I've given you too much credit, though.

I'll never understand why people can't distinguish between honest handicappers who charge for their picks and "scumbag touts."

Nevermind.

You started the thread. My apologies to dsethi.

Any marketing guru in the world would tell you that that is advertising.
To say you never advertised is the biggest crock I have ever heard.

Im not saying that what you are saying is not true. I guess there is a such thing as an honest tout that is not a scammer.
Just because your brother sells picks for money does not automatically make him a bad person.
Just dont insult people by saying you dont advertise your picks.
Because he does advertise his picks in SP forum.

Who gives a fuck about advertising? If you advertise you're a scammer? Throw all those scammers from Morgan Stanley, Merrill Lynch, etc. in jail, then. Preying on the weak like that...how dare them!

you were charging $100 per week, if not still. stop with the "Im doing it the right way" bullshit. $100 a week for 52 weeks is $5200 a year for baseball -1 picks and college hoops favorite moneyline parlays.

you really belong in the forum tout area.

That's your response? Really? And you're making it sound like he's holding a gun to people's heads and making them pay for picks.

Jesus, I have given you too much credit. Amazing.

Look, I think we are talking about 2 different things here. Nothing at all wrong with advertising. In fact, im not saying that what your brother is doing is wrong or a bad reflection on him.

All I am talking about is this comment.

No, it wasn't a good one. Please show me where I sought them out. Please show me where I tried to reach out to random people with the hope that they'd pay me for my picks. Comparing buying crack to making money doesn't equate either.

They sought me out. Huge difference.

He was advertising to sell picks. Hey may not have bought a 30 second spot during the superbowl, or bought a piece in USA TODAY, but he clearly sought out people to pay him for picks.

Does this make him a scammer? Not at all.
I dont think he gives out both sides of a game to 2 different people. I dont think he flips a coin to make his selections.

I think he really trys to give people the best picks he can give, and im sure he hurts inside when people lose money on selections. Bad touts have no soul and dont care one way or the other.

Dsethi is trying to distance himself from being a tout because they have a bad reputation.

But he is going to have to come to the understanding that he IS indeed a tout whether he likes it or not.

That does not mean he is an evil tout, but he is a tout who sells picks for money.

There are good touts and bad touts.
Just like good lawers and bad ones.

Got it, CHOP. I hadn't read the entire thread when I responded to your post.

I just cannot believe how ignorant some people are. I simply don't understand how people can't distinguish between honest touts and dishonest ones, so they just group them all into one category.

I don't understand how people can make generalizations about entire professions based on the work of a few.

I don't understand how people can be so stupid, how they can lack any semblance of common sense.

It makes me so sad and frustrated knowing that there are so many of these people walking the earth.

Again, I didn't seek anyone out. If people didn't reach out to me wanting my services, then there'd be no service, plain and simple. I would continue with what I'm doing in peace then, and not in the sport-specific forums.

Thats just a crazy comment and you know it.
Im trying to stand up for you here, but your making it difficult.
