Pretty simple for me... The backup QB situation was horrible.. iit showed in all the games we lost... Good riddance to Lockie... the QB's coming in should be fine going forward... You could see this coming even a 31-0 with Adams going down

But you said last summer they were fine with Lockie because it's 'the system',not the qb.

Ducks better open up the wallet to get Chip back. The current coach is a disgrace and a dumbass to boot.

It was a good game tho.
Graham at Arizona State isn't any better. I know half the coaches out there are dumb as a door nail, but when WV is up 36-35 and you just score a TD to go up 41-36 with less than 5 minutes left, what do you do? If your Graham you go for one. That way a touchdown and an extra point will beat you. Makes perfect sense to me...

Quack, would you happen to know if there is anything happening in Eugene now regarding Chip?
Rumors in the chat rooms maybe? I realize it's still early in the off season and all the changes are still quite recent.

If he wants his job back it would be a very cool gesture on Helfrich's part to step aside.
Phil Knight can afford to pay for all of it which is why I think there's a chance it could happen.

By the way, and this is 100% on Helfrich...

Why the fuck didn't he have a back up center that was capable of snapping the ball in the shotgun?
If nothing more than that Oregon would have won the game -- possibly by 2 TDs.

The 3 TOs that the backup caused is UNACCEPTABLE on any football team.

He filled in last year when Grasu was out for 2 or 3 games and never had the issues he had last night, guess when it went bad he choked, much like the coaching staff did.

Lockie is not capable of looking in more then one direction when in the pocket
I noticed.

I also noticed that he will often run directly into the pass rush when he should scramble away from it or leave the pocket. Totally the opposite of Adams

Agree. Lockie looks like he's in a hurry to do something before he's even pressured. Coaching staff also responsible for the mess at backup center. The DC did a great job prepping his defense for the game, but should have pressed the TCU QB more early 2nd half. By constantly playing prevent and zone, the Duck D was exhausted by the 4th quarter.

Addressing conans original question:

none of my buddies or friends close to the program have heard any news regarding chip Kelly. I think a lot of people are pretty fed up with the lack of adjustments taking place during the games. I know a TON of people have spoke about rumors of pellum being demoted back to Lbs coach and Oregon going after a new DC, but those are small rumors that haven't gained any traction...... Yet.... Wouldn't be surprised to see the ducks go after Justin Wilcox at all. He's a young fiery DC who played at Oregon and I'm sure would love the chance to coach that defense. In my opinion Wilcox is a fantastic recruiter as well and is known for getting good Defensive lineman and linebackers, exactly what the ducks need. My buddy from Eugene doesn't think Wilcox would be a good addition but sees it as a possibility. His friend who works in the media down there has ties to the athletic program and usually gets a beat on any action coming thru the pipeline hasn't heard anything yet regarding any coaching changes, but he did say there's been rumblings in the athletic department of a change in defensive coordinator for a while now.

Im not going to speak for him or start any rumors but I can tell you right now that from a fan base standpoint the seats are starting to heat up in Eugene for helfrich and pellum. That debacle last night didn't sit well for the boosters and Phil knight seeing how the football program is now the flagship sport at that university. Expectations are high and I wouldn't be surprised one bit to see the checkbooks open up and at least go after a big name DC. I think they like helfrich but he lacks a serious killer instinct that chip Kelly obviously had... Helfrich is way to nice but maybe this will be the kick in the ass he needs to jumpstart his motor..... Defense is a major issue but it has been since 2009.... The biggest issue is this and my good friend who knows that program better than I do made this comment... "One guy shouldn't be the difference between 10-2 and 2-10 for Oregon......"

thats a fabulous quote that sums up the ducks for the last 3 seasons..... The defense is what it is, declining, needs a complete overhaul, but the team has been riding the shoulders of one Individual for 3 years now being blessed with mariota and now a very underrated Vernon Adams.... The ducks now et another transfer in a very good and bigger QB in Dakota prukop... 6'2 200 and 4.5-4.6 speed.... Problem is there doesn't appear to be any development going on else where... Oregon pumps out the RBs and O lineman but is now leaning on transfers for QBs rather than developing guys, that's a trouble some sign for Oregon fans.... That hurts you big time when the starter goes down.... Of Coker goes down, Alabama still functions, same with arkansas, ole miss, lsu and a bunch of big 10 teams. Not so with Oregon, it's their Achilles heel.

ill talk to my friends tho and see what stories are floating around and if I get anything I'll be sure to pass it along as quickly as possible gentleman

Bumped for you saying qb would not be an issue. It cost the Ducks several games this year.

Looking forward to next year. All 3 teams I have in my bet should be preseason top 10. Remember when you said Notre Dane,Michigan,Tennessee were has been programs and Oregon was the future? Lol. Learn the game bro

Your ur act is old and tiresome. You provide zero insight to this forum. It's obvious your main goal is to bash Oregon strictly. Whatever man, enjoy. I'm trying to explain something to you, then you admit it, then you go back to bashing lol. I now see your entire agenda. Move on homie

I give zero Fucks about Oregon. Actually kind of like them. It just so happens this forum has a huge number of irrational, ignorant Oregon homers that must be called out. It's nothing against Oregon. If there were 5 threads a day about Texas Tech that were full of homer bullshit,I'd call them out too. 10 years ago it was USC,then all you guys jumped ship and hopped on the Oregon bandwagon. It's amusing.

I spent 20 years in Oregon and never once did I root for USC, why lump everyone together? Do you know us personally lol? Stop that ignorant bullsht.... It's bogus... I've spent the lame last 4 and half years now in the Midwest between southern Illinois and Kentucky and I've never met a more pompous and arrogant Tennessee OR KENTUCKY fan as you..... It's truly remarkable. Don't give us that sad bs excuse that you would light up other threads of other school, because u don't.... U rarely post in the sec threads, why, because the sec fans would light your ass up to knowing the fool that you really are. Fact of the matter is you do it strictly for fun and it's old boss, lame too.... Surprised the mods haven't taken care of you a long time ago. Like Ive asked before, what the hell do you bring to the forum? It sure isn't any insight. It's strictly hatred. Get this clown out of this place.

Nobody cares about your life story. I'd lay -400 you posted under another name that was USC related before your October 2014 registration lol.

And get the fuck outta here with the "my guys in Eugene" nonsense. That's fantasyland. I've never stepped foot in the state and I'll know about any coaching moves before you because I know actual coaches. You call them "the guy from San Diego st". It's guys like you that bring nothing but fandom that are useless. I know more about your own team than you do and it burns you up because where you come from wearing a neon green shirt makes you a football fan. I feel like a Canadian discussing hockey with Mexicans talking to you guys that just started watching football in 2010.
