I imagine you would say the same thing if during an NBA game the announcers were making the same cracks about worthless FT's at the end of an already decided game?

Of course....Musburger does it all the time, as do a few others.

If he game was SOMEWHAT in reach, or the he was obsessing about the spread it's a different story. He knew what that last play meant. It meant absolutley NOTHING except to the gamblers, and quite a few people, including myself were watching it very closely.

NBA announcers do it all the time. I remember one game Vince Carter hit a half court shot at the buzzer, was totally meaningless but the announcer made it seem like they won the championship. Checked and that gave them a backdoor cover, and pushed the game over the total.

Why not mention it? Who else other than total bettors were even watching at that point? He knows his audience

Exactly which is what most aren't getting.

Now I've heard Musberger complain about a 6pt dog kicking a field goal when down 10 in the 3rd qtr. He sounded frustrated and said he would think they would want to keep it close considering they were underdogs.

Kinda takes focus off the game but Al's comment was harmless.

he ALWAYS has comments like that at the end of games....... when only the degenerates are watching a blowout

Yeah i was just saying that to my bro. Michaels is alwys pointing out that late cover/noncover (usually very "slyly")

barkley also drops it too on tnt after games. I remember the dallas NO playoff game where dallas was down 25 and cut it to like 8 because they kept coming down and chucking three's and fouling and he goes i bet that last 3 min of the game made it real interesting for the bookies

STFU. Millions bet on the NFL and the NFL knows it.

LOL! Did you really think the NFL would be this popular if NO Betting was allowed ? C'mon ... you just wake up from under a rock ?

Bottom line ... NFL is so popular because hundreds of millions are bet each and every week. NFL knows it .. advertisers know it ... I just thought everyone did.

Guess I was wrong. :think2:

all right enough, Michaels and Musbergers betting has jumped the shark, is old news. They bet the games we get it. they usually take the OVER and the Fav. Both will comment on the line. Its old.

I've run into Michaels at Santa Anita, I asked him who he liked, he gave me his opinion, I gave him mine. Mine won, big deal two gamblers talking ponies. Didn't asks him about football that would have been rude. We're all gamblers.

Wagering on sports, in particular the NFL is absolutely huge. Michaels probably wagers as well as alot of the guys in the booth and so on. Why does wagering on the NFL have such a black eye? They like to hush it because the fixing games topic comes up? Oh well, where there's money, there will always be corruption. Part of reality. Why is horse racing so widely accepted in this country as legal wagering and without that shroud of darkness over it? Never got why gambling at the track is ok but gambling on football is not.
