Ponder this. Exactly one month ago today, St. Marys is a 15 point favorite at home over Santa Clara and wins by 31 points. Now they meet again on Feb 11, 2008 at Santa Clara and St. Marys is just a 5 point favorite. Your 19 point winner is just a 2 point favorite tonight, a 17 point difference. St. Marys, a 31 point winner was just a 5 point favorite, a 26 point difference, your way of looking at things. Why wasn't St. Marys a so called LOCK also.

THIS IS WHY AND IT'S THE SAME REASON YOUR SO CALLED LOCK IS NOT A LOCK. With just 24 seconds left in the game, it's tied at 50 and could go either way. St. Marys does score, Santa Clara dosent and has to foul with 4 seconds left. St. Marys wins by 4 but dosn't cover the 5 point spread.

We had the Grizzlies last night as a home dog, and they came through to win outright, but tonight we go against them. Even with Gasol, the Grizzlies were 4-19 on the road and in the 19 losses, 12 of them have come by 11 points or more - they just haven't been competitive. They have lost each of their last four on the road by at least 11 points. They have not responded well coming off a home win as a dog, as the last two times they went on the road they lost by 18 and 27 points. The Sixers are playing better now than they have at any point this season, and have not failed to cover in each of their last eight games and have won four straight. Their last three games against teams with a losing record have resulted in 21, 17 and 43-point wins. These teams are heading in opposite directions, so we will go with the hot hand and back the Sixers here.

We don't normally try to knock down conference bears but, when you consider the position that Butler finds itself in tonight, this is definitely worth a try. The Bulldogs stand alone at the top of the Horizon League two full games ahead of the second place team and three games ahead of the third place team with just five games left on the conference schedule. Four of those five games are at home where Butler has won 22 of its last 23 games, including ten in a row. Two of those home games are against the second and third place teams (Wright State and Cleveland State) and both of those are same season revenge games for the Dogs. (Butler 6-0 SU in its last six home revenge games). Can you blame Butler for not being all that inspired tonight? Youngstown is 10-3 ATS in its last 13 league games and has enough firepower to hang around for most of the game. Butler wins and Butler gets the money.
