Seems to me that the players are a pain in the ass to the bookies, and vice versa.Thank heaven for offshore.

Another one a particular local does to me which drives me crazy. When hooked he always makes a point of saying something like "it's 24 my way right"? Always wants to make sure our figures check throughout the week. When I'm up on him then it's "the papers haven't been graded from last night" or some other reason. It's a little thing but it annoys the hell out of me for some reason.

Now when I am hooked during the week I NEVER check off on a number. I'm sorry still looking the scores over from last night I tell him.

I deal with this one too. I never ever take a total with a local, although my dumbass friends still do. Of course, for some reason there's never a hook on the total line...

My local is simply awesome

If I ever call his cell for the late Saturday college games or at 8:15 for the Sunday nighter, he's usually so drunk, he doesn't write down the play I made and then practically guesses the total the next day by EMPHASIZING that he has to check his sheet

As long as the play isn't so big that he remembers it, I usually make a dime a season doing this

how about the 100mph rundown of the lines? i tell him to slow the fvck down...doesn't help. I do know that asking him to read me those lines back to me again pisses him off

Good info guys.

Once offshore, it's hard to image having a local only, but I am glad they are available though.

the thing that bothers me the most is when a guy goes on a month long winning streak for about 10K and then loses 2 weeks in a row and comes up short when it's time to settle. most locals in my area use .20 lines and when totals hit the number the player loses, the odds are obviously slanted heavily in favor of the book. the main reason for that is the risk factor, if the shit hits the fan the bookies are going to get the felony not the player. plus a lot more suckers play via the local, and won't complain about slanted odds.

I know a local in Vincennes indiana who counts ties in parlays as a loss. All his parlay cards had whole numbers.
