Hey Michel: since I was part of that discussion that you referenced I will respond to your Take in the first post of this thread. Yes has been upfront for about 6 years that he is a professional who has clients. How you missed that I don't know? But irrespective of that I have dealt with YES for about 6 years and find him to be a solid horse player and good guy. While I do agree that his style does not fit the spirit of these threads, let's not make him out to be the bad guy here.
I like Hoss but he does not like touts. Period. But when has he ever posted in your threads to wish you luck or send you a congrats on a score. I have never seen that. Whereas YES will do that on occasion.
Overall we can carry on. One suggestion though. To be truly transparent I would recommend you run a tally for a set period of time any day you play. Maybe now thru the CUP for instance. Then we can really see how you perform over time. Tough game it is Michel and you do a great job capping and running this thread. THX.
Jack,
Where did I make yes yes out to be a "bad guy"? I didn't.
As for him selling picks, please show me where he ever said that because I missed it. You have said things privately that he has information, or he's a professional or something but you nor he ever told me that he sells his picks. Honestly, like I said in my post, I personally don't care. But, like I said, at least half if not a vast majority of the people who post on these boards don't like touts and they will always elicit responses like Hoss' and skoda's. I just don't want that stuff in my thread. Am I entitled to that?
As for yy's posting style, it is not appropriate to what I ask of posters in this thread. He himself can't keep up with the accounting in a timely manner. How is anyone else going to?
And lastly, my posts in this thread (as are Niko's and Gravy's) are completely transparent. I have no need to keep a running total. I've done that before. I did it one year for the complete Saratoga meet and came out with a positive ROI. I did it another year and lost money. If you want a running total, be my guest. Keep it publicly. Right here on the board. But for the 99th time I'm not here to impress anyone and if I had my way everyone who posts here would be a winner. I root for everyone's success. Always. Here and in my day to day life.
I'd play in your contest but why would I want to discount money won when you set caps? I play to catch big exactas. I throw away a lot of tickets but when I handicap one and it comes in I don't want to leave any money on the table because someone else doesn't know how to pick and bet longshots. They are not "shots" as you call them. They are horses handicapped who have a better chance to win than the public is giving them.
If you let me bet the way I normally bet and allow the TRUE payoffs to count towards my record I'll gladly join you guys and you can track every bet over an extended period. But I have no interest in participating in a contest where I can't count some of the money I won by betting in said contest. And yea, I'll play against any honest player including yy (PS you said in the other thread that he let everyone slide when he won one of your contests. I don't roll like that. I entered into an agreement to get paid if I won or to pay if I lost. I lost and I paid even though yy told me that I didn't need to.) But I need everyone to do a better job of tracking their play. That's the only way we can guard against mistakes in accounting. It's a contest. There can't be mistakes.
That's it.
As always good luck with your contest but this thread has a different purpose.
