Liga and Saprissa, actually the championship was this weekend, saprissa won, I'm talking Fútbol off course, soccer for north-americans, motor sports are the second sport around here, but 90% of the scene is soccer, I have a question for you, are planning to travel? the hiv question felt a little strange, try to ask about Hotel del Rey, maybe that will interest you.

Depends on what State you are from, I find that Ticos are generally stressed out just take a look at the driving conditions if you dont believe me.

Guess you could be right there, I nver had any problems when I'd visit places like Misoula, MT or Asheville, NC. But I grew up in Southern, CA.. So we have the I-5 and the I-405 which IMHO is 100 times worse for driving than Ticoland. However, I will say we stay in the lines typically when we drive on the I-5, I-10, or I-405. That and you don't have dogs, potholes, bicycles, and pedestrians all over the place. But those things are what I truly like about CR.

In this context I think the pace of life is refered to and not necessarily the driving per se. More or less put into the context of how they (the ticos) live day in and day out. In my experiences, my time was spent with the family on Sundays just sitting outside at the Rancho... or feeding my girlfriend's brother's horse and then the family all comes over.. grandpa and all to the house to have a big family dinner. This was different to me, but it does still exist in the states in some places.

Sometimes to enjoy life a little more you have to give up a few things. And I think the life is very well enjoyed in CR, just my opinion of course.

i got one more question for now. what is the college education system like. do you have to pay outrageous amounts like we do in the states. what is your standout school, US have several like harvard, yale etc., canada has mcgill, england has oxford etc. Is there any school that can match up with them? Basically whats the best university in costa rica.

Cheap.. even for a foreigner. My ex goes to UCR and pays something like $300 a semester. I can't remember but it was ridiculously cheap.

INCAE is my favorite school in CR. A business school. UCR is a great school too IMO.

I would apply to INCAE if you ant a reputable college degree from CR. They are #20 in LATAM. There is no harvard, all the rich people in Costa rica go to Harvard... Otto Guevara is one of them.

Don't kid yourself on this, its all in the attitude. You have to have that attitude, doesn't matter what others do. In other words if you easily get stressed about work and life, you will still probably be that way. Ticos generally don't let a lot of things bother them like we do, but it probably won't rub off on you too much. So if you have an easy going demeanor and get a not-so-stressful job then you probably will be ok, but then again you probably would be laid back no matter where you lived.

Reason I say this is because I know plenty of workers in the sports book industry and laid back is FAR from how I would describe them. They work long-ass days and have a lot of money riding on their backs. Most work 6 days a week and sometimes 7 in prime sports betting seasons. Still they blow out of work and grab a few beers and they are pretty happy despite it all. They love what they do for a living and wouldn't want to do anything else. So the hours and stress come with the territory and they accept that.
