General, I assume those quarterback records are straight-up and NOT against the spread?

Rather irrelevant now as we approach the end of the season, but a factor I've always considered enormously important in picking totals in baseball is who the homeplate umpire is. If you watch a lot of baseball, you'll notice that there's a tremendous variance from ump to ump in what is and isn't called a strike. Obviously, that has a huge bearing on the game.

Covers has over/under stats on umps, but I've never yet found a site that tells you ahead of time (before gametime) who the home plate ump is gonna be. Anyone happen to know?

Dogs24, VegasInsider.com has a section of who the umpires will be - EXCEPT IN THE FIRST GAME OF A NEW SERIES. Otherwise, simply look at the boxscore of the previous game and move the first base umpire to home plate. They rotate clockwise in subsequent games of a series.

The barometric pressure is far more important than the umpire in baseball totals.
