You self-employed guys just love being able to log on and post to an internet forum at any hour of the day or night.

I just survived 5 days in hell, doing everything but something I get compensated for. Of course, none of it would be possible if I wasn't self-employed.

7/1 Moved Huskygirl from one NYC apartment to another.
7/2 Picked up Italians @ JFK day before Holiday weekend, accidents and weather and heavy volume turn 90 minute return trip into 4.5 hour ordeal.
7/3 Helped brother-in-law remodel my bathroom. (I would have hired somebody, fucking huskygal) Brought Italians to family in Boston where they spent the weeekend.
7/4 Spent 7 hours landscaping in advance of large grad party next weekend.
7/5 cleaned out garage and shed, picked up Italians in Boston.

My soft hands are all cut up and blistered, and now I have to catch up at the office, but I really just want to sleep.

Some fucking holiday, eh?

Let the next lawn/garden job build to 10-12 hours....I'll split the cost of an airline ticket to NYC...Will clean up your place for $20 an hour (over two days) and you can show me NYC by night.


If I can get about a dozen cyber friends to do something similar I can afford to travel once a month...nyuk, nyuk

Of course I'm full of bull about the lawn/garden part. Do your own damn lawn work or contract it out to a qualified local.

I'd arrive, go out to NYC for the night....get home at 4am, sleep til 1pm and wake up with a "fuck your lawn".

Serious note....SheBar and I likely to make our first shared trip to the City this fall (last one was in 2003, though I myself was there for two days in June 2007).

I have full plans to set up a real live RxForum-friendly shindig.....Mayhaps at BillHill's bar...which I'm not sure if it's Long Island (northwest corner) or if it's in CT.
