Corner comes in, inswinger... Onstad doesn't anticipate the swing well and comes out too far. The ball gets between Onstand and the post, far enough so that he can't catch it, so he takes a desperate swing at it, and knocks it into the net.

That's the way I saw it. Someone else might have a different interpretation.

Can't write 'em off after one game, that wasn't even a loss. If Onstad isn't smoking crack, everyone would probably have a different opinion of Canada's chances. Canada dominated the 2nd half, getting a load of scoring chances.

Needless to say, with the way the schedule is shaping up, their next game is a must win. With back to back games against Mexico coming up, they desperately need the three at home against Honduras. Win that game and they are back in the driver's seat. Lose that game and it is over.

Canada was a little off that first half but settled in and came to play in the second, plenty of chances to put this one away in the final 20 minutes but just couldn't bury it. Onstad has certainly dug us into a bit of a hole with that huge mistake on the goal but it's certainly not over yet. As you said Buck, next game at home against Honduras is a must win for us, should come down to those 2 teams for the second spot. I've heard several announcers mention DeGuzman is without a doubt the top midfielder in Concacaf and could pretty much start for any midfield in the world, I believe it after seeing him play the past year.
