Pinny will probably put up a line, but it will be like OHL where they will put up a line closer to game time.

BTW, spealing about OHL, training camps start up in less than 2 weeks! I hope Pinny is more consistent this year putting up their lines, and removes the circles from their games so we can bet more.

Pinny has a line up on the canada game now.

I know iceman i'm pumped about the OHL starting up again. i laos hope Pinny has those lines again. I doubt they will take those circles away but if they do they're in trouble. we killed it last year and i expect the same again this year. i've got my seasons tickets for Niagara again. did you renew your seasons with the Soo?

My seasons are renewed too. There's a big waiting list for seasons tickets here, ever since the Essar Centre (formerly Steelback Centre) went up. They were easier to get when they played in the Memorial Gardens, but that wasn't a very comfortable venue. Still miss the place though.

BTW, if anyone is interested, here's a nice website for all the arenas in the OHL. Pretty neat stuff.

I'm also leaning Canada here as well. Canada have to win their home games if they want to advance. This is a very tough group for Canada to qualify out of.

not much info on me from this one to be honest.

this is the best Canadian national Soccer team i've seen in my 24 year old life time.
I remember they never used to control the ball or have any finishers but this team gets strong midfield play from Julien deGuzman who plays for Deportivo la Coruna in La Liga. he has been named Deportivo's top player the last 2 seasons. Dwayne deRosario is also in the midfield. he's an established MLS star with a very good work rate and talent to go along with it. No Issey nakajima farran in the midfield tomorrow though, he's injured. he's got pace and creativty so it hurts but he's not a guy that can't be replaced

goalkeeper is set as well. Onstad is experienced and still playing well for Houston in the MLS. Sutton has been very good for TFC as well

individual defenders are pretty good as well. stalteri is the captain and still playing in the EPL. Hastings plays in the SPL. Serioux has been strong for FC Dallas in the MLS. i'm not sure who the 4th defender will be

Up front Iain Hume plays for barnsley and used to be in the EPL. he's small but can score. rob friend is a hard worker and has improved over the years. he's strong in the air. radzinski also has good EPL expereince and can score.

i'm a big fan of Atiba hutchinson and ali gerba as well.

it's a good squad and 3 points at home to jamaica is a must if canada wants to qualify from this group of death

well I'm significantly older than Phil and agree this is Canada's best squad I've seen. I think they suffer badly in the striker position but matches are won in midfield and they are really good there.

Jamaica have been trotting out basically the same team for years, mostly underacheivers from Eng Champ or Eng Div 1, and they've surprisingly left Marlon King off the squad. They haven't beaten a team in the top 80 since a friendly home win vs Canada in 2006 and in the past year have lost to Indonesia, Vietnam, Grenada, and Iran (by 7 goals).

I'm not a big fan of theirs but Canada never seems to reach the heights they should. Now in the group of death a home win is a must

I love this year's version of team Canada. Julien De Guzman IMO is the best player I've ever seen come out of our country, even though I'm about the same age as Phil Money. This team will only go as far as De Guzman takes it. He has all the skill. We are not used to a guy with so much raw talent... the guy has great ball control skill, great vision, and can place the ball in the corner on a regular basis from outside the 18.

In net, we have two very solid keepers. Honestly, Canada has never really had a problem in net, we've always had a better keeper than our opposition. I hope Onstad gets the start, even though I don't think it will make a big difference. I just feel more confident with Pat in net.

The defence should be decent too, but what worries me (as always) is the strikers. I like Rob Friend as a solid target man, but one who has little ball control or speed. If we could only find a speedy guy to put with him, I think things could be ok. I don't know if Gerba is the answer. I wonder how much Radzinski has left in the tank, he could be a good option up front, although I've also seen him used in the midfield.

We desperately need this game tomorrow night. There is no doubt in my mind that we SHOULD get out of this group. I even think Mexico can be held to a draw at home.

But, our biggest problem isn't in our starting 11, it's with the guy holding the whistle. CONCACAF has some of the most biased officiating anywhere in the world, and Canada is always on the wrong end of the calls. This is not whining at all, it is the absolute truth. I'm really curious to see how the officiating is in Honduras and Jamaica.

Three top-notch posts back to back to back.
Some very good info in all of them and I learned a lot.
This is why the posters here in the soccer forum are some of the best.
Thanks to all of you.

well actually it's not "whining" but it is setting up an excuse in case Canada fails to win which is understandable with their constant underacheivement. If you cannot beat an out of form Jamaica on an artificial turf at home there will be no excuses

You forgot to include the rest of the quote, where I specifically mentionned Honduras and Jamaica. Officiating will be fair in Canada.

For the record, even though I think Canada should make it through the group, the lack of talent at the striker position has made it hard for me to put more than a unit on Canada -0.5. Jamaica may be a fielding a weaker team than we've been used to, but they clearly have the edge at the striker position.

Usually Canada's home games have been known to be very hospitable to it's opponents as the visitors crowds usually outnumber the home crowds. Especially with large population of Jamaicans that live in Toronto. That will not be the story tonight though as Canadian Team Supporters "The Voyageurs" have teamed up with TFC fans to sellout BMO and bring a very pro Canada crowd tonight against Jamaica. Our 3 top players in DeGuzman, Derosario and Hutchinson all our from the Greater Toronto area as well so they should be extra pumped for this one.

Passthebuck, you are absolutely correct about Canada getting screwed over badly by Concacaf officiating over the past 5 years. We got absolutely screwed twice in both games against Honduras 4 years ago in the last qualifying rounds, costing us 2 victories, and the latest example was Gold Cup 2007 against the USA where Hutchinson tied the game in the dying minutes at 2 only to have the goal called offside on a horrendous call when the ball went off the American defender. We actually had American fans coming on to our Canadian Soccer Supporter Websites apologizing for the bad call, but said they would take the victory regardless. You just never know what your gonna get with Concacaf officiating.

Officiating has been equally poor in the first half, so I guess it's even. Paul Stalteri looks a little rough, as the majority of his passes are nowhere near a Canadian player. De Guzman showing brief signs of brilliance, but he needs to take control of the midfield. Best player so far, IMO, has been Radzinski. They ought to keep feeding him the ball down the left side.

Hate to say it... but this game could go either way, very slight first half edge to Canada.
