The name of the book is celebritysportsbook.com, I was referred to them online, they are a local book that set me up with 1.5k credit line. I currently still use 5dimes and have never had any problem with them, but I like having the additional options.

I have heard horror stories about these kind of scams so I am looking for some wisdom from my fellow forum members here, what do you think are the chances these guys are actually legit? The dude who set me up gave me his phone number and sent me this email:

what do you need to verify. the company is a bunch of italian-irishman from new york that used to be a street book and extended to web. the website they use is pph. i gave you the rules and regs

if you have questions I am the guy in charge of getting your money to them and their moneyto you

and then:

and by the way that was ot meant to be rude that is just the truth.. remember its up to you. i am putting trust in you and vice versa. the only thing i can say buddy is that they have over 700 clients in 32 states if you dont want to play its ok I will delete everything you gave me and we can go our separate ways

Hmmm...

How do you know this guy? The answer to my question will be the answer to your question. However if the credit line they gave you is only $1500 I'd imagine it's legit. On the other hand I've never known people to send this type of information via e-mail? I'm still trying to catch up with the information age I guess? :think2:

Met him on an online forum, I requested he raise my limit to 2k and he said no problem.

This is the last email I got from him just a few minutes ago:

2k limit is fine--- 100 max play cant raise that yet. based upon too many guys get on here first week to take shots at us. if they lose they dont pay. when they win and get paid generally by the following week they lose and stiff me

time will tell bud

lets make this long term and things will go smooth

Thoughts?

I wouldn't trust anyone who I only know through a message board or a chat room.
Before I start playing with him, know where he lives, get his phone #, find out if he has a legit job, if so where is it...............

I got his phone number, otherwise I would not be considering this, I created this thread because I thought it maybe possible that someone has experience with this website.

I'd go with an RX sponsored book as an ancillary book.

I use 5dimes and beyjamaica, I thought a backup 2k option couldn't hurt, haven't place any bets with them yet. He has said my max bet is 100.

Hey Kirk,
As the other guys said I would be careful. I had chatted with a guy on one of the other forums and he had a guy. My bookie had been busted and was gone. So I played with this guy for a while. No website just a phone number. When I lost I paid, then went on a hot streak and won big and never got paid. So I would only use someone I knew . He may be legit but you will never know. I am sure they get stiffed to.

Hey Kirk,

What's your risk to reward? I say , since you are asking it's not worth it. Cancell the account and wait for someone to come along with a legit account for you.

its kind of weird that a new book opens on low season, but they can be preparing for football season...

when i start on a new book, i think the best way is o ask refereces.., then start placing small deposits to see how it works..., and after they start been rate, the deposits will increase...

Also the lines will say a lot from the book.., looks to easy.., probably they want to encurage you to deposit big... so.., take it slowly and let us know how the experience was...

and to be honest.., right now i dont feel too confortable playing with agents...

if you just met the guy on a forum and thats all you know about him, I wouldn't touch it. I used to think that "most books pay" mainly because I always did. There are as many little wanna be stiff agents running around free popping as there are players doing it.

I wonder why the book is trusting you? and don't take that personally. Why would he take action from somebody he doesn't know?

doesn't pass the smell test to me.

maybe somebody here can set you up with a good agent if they know and trust you.

Yea, Im not really feeling this guy. If anyone has a solid agent and wants a mutually successful business relationship, I am all ears right now. I cut tie with my local and am actively pursuing a good reputable one.

agent = bookie
the sports book is just a website the agent uses, and who does whatever the agent wants. cause he pays them.
the agent is your bookie and is the one whom you will have to trust. being an agent is illegal and many have been busted. do a search on this forum or the web. all sports books use agents, for credit business, to varying extents.
