Correct me if I'm wrong but giving something of value to someone in order to get their vote is illegal no?

felons are allowed to vote?

In most jurisdictions, yes

Florida is one of the few remaining states that impedes citizens from voting who have a felony conviction

That is correct

However, contrary to the criticisms of LBJ and Bloomberg, the money being proffered is not conditioned on any recepient voting for a specific candidate or for that matter - voting at all

The strong majority of felony convictions within the state of Florida are for possession of illegal substances

21 grams or more of cannabis is a felony within Florida

2 grams (picture a packet of sugar for coffee) of cocaine, heroin, meth etal is a felony within Florida

Make no mistake, there are tons of violent felons in Florida that are not just minor drug offenses.

No doubt Florida has it's share of violent felons.

Most are still behind bars

Regardless the strong majority of felony convictions - as in all other southern states - are for simple drug possession

South of the MasonDixon line, the drug laws were specifically crafted in the late 1960s-1980s to serve as a defacto replacement for Jim Crow

THe most dangerous part of this Democracy is the uninformed having the right to vote.

What's even worse is those that have no "skin in the game" being allowed to vote! Abled bodied, Generational welfare should not have a right to vote. You must pay taxes with your EARNED money, or served your country, to have earned the right to vote. Wasting oxygen should not be the sole criteria to vote. Obviously seniors who have worked have earned the right to vote.
