I'm just looking at the numbers and the results. There are exceptions and people in HS who are NBA ready and will make 100mil+ But the numbers are so small that forgoing an education will cost more in the long run. You can't force people to learn, I am sure majority do not take college seriously when they know they are pro bound. But eliminating that from step from athletes can't be doing them any favors.

Avg networth of guys who have played in the NBA vs avg networth of guys who played 4 years of college.

What are the results for that? If you have a legitimate chance to get to the NBA, do it. Again, psych 202 can wait a few years. It isn't going anywhere. And if you aren't willing to go back to school then you probably weren't going to excel academically in the first place. I'd say most people are far more equipped to go to college from a maturity standpoint at 23 than 19 anyways.

of course you go if your close, but a lot of fringe players will go to a shit league and since they get paid wont be able to go back after 1 year away and realizing they arent ready. the problem isnt for the top guys, its for the guys who are almost there but not quite. too many players are told or believe they are good enough for the nba only to realize the harsh reality. if a player goes to any league where they are paid they cant go back to school and play to get better. youll see a lot of guys enter into the league to get the money now and be out of the league in a year or two with no prospects and no skills. at least if you go to school you can be evaluated and have people tell you where your chances of being drafted are.

I think it's a good idea, but wouldn't want this guy running it. Why can't the NFL and NBA do like the NHL and MLB with minor teams? It opens up more scholarships for kids that actually want to go to college. Once you're 18 you should be able to play pros. I get that these colleges want to make money, but it would end the debate about paying college player. Making it a rule to go to college before you go pro is a dumb rule.

It's certainly not without risk and not for everyone, but to many that would be worth it since you are getting paid.

The reason is pretty simple.

Because college football and college basketball make a ton of $ for a ton of people. And these minor leagues really wouldn't.

And the NFL/NBA don't really have much incentive to cut the NCAA out. If anything, many of their partners (tv networks) would probably be pretty pissed if they were to do something like that.

It is all a front...LaVar rounds these guys up, sets up a league and then pays them from anywhere from 3000 to 10000 a month...then he becomes friendly with them and sets them up with an agent or himself for a payday down the road...he wants control just like he has with his sons...
