Fish,

95% of the residents here really couldn't care less if they were long term winners. That is the bottom line. They like to get an occasional jackpot and then go spend it on something like a TV. In the meantime, face the reality. If that number came down to say 50%, then you would be screwed because locals Vegas casinos couldn't offer 100%+ VP. Most of my friends are successful and talented people at their jobs and lives, but squares in the casino. No big deal, they are there for occasional entertainment and nothing else and if that entertains them, who are we to complain about their lack of willingness to improve their chances?

No question about it Wild Bill.

However, there are also a large contingent of players that play for the soul purpose of expecting to win that never care to learn the strategy.

Understand, not knocking any of the individuals that care to play the game just for relaxation that are successful in other professions.

Doyle Brunson, famous poker player, personally said something to me that I will never forget.

That is, never make fun of the poker skills of somebody at your table, for they may be the same person that saves your life on the operating table some day.

I never forgot that advice given to me close to 20 years ago.

Doyle must have never tried to collect from a doctor(or lawyer)?..just kidding!..I'm sure he's made a mint from both.

I have an uncle that is a retired BM & one that's a doctor..neither know "who's on first"..they're "followers" denting their net-worths by chasing syndicate sendouts..clueless number-builders at this point in time of their aging gambling careers are they!
