I totally agree. As a bama fan i have seen this defense week after week give up the big plays on defense for the last 2 yrs and just fortunately enough we had the better athletes and survived. I don't see it happening but something has to change the way we approach the future with our below avg pass defense.
I think the Pac-12 has had a very good year, but to say they are much better is not really so. The SEC has not won the big games in the bowls but yet they were not matched up against the Pac-12. If Oregon beats Ohio St then you can crown the pac 12 the best. Lets not forget your League runner up layed a egg to a non power 5 Boise St. I do think the majority of SEC folks do not realize the gap has closed and the rest of the CFB world has caught up. Alot of it is the CFB landscape has changed with the no-huddle hurry up offenses, and imo the pac-12 runs it prolly a little better than the rest of us. I do think the National Championship game has a chance to be a good one. People do not give this Ohio St team and coaching staff enough credit. The fact is simple. Alabama, and the entire SEC is simply not nearly as good as you people want to think they are. The Pac 12 is much better, and has proven it.
His play calling was odd, but one of the reasons we all consider Saban one of the best coaches ever is because when he gets a month to prepare he creates incredible game plans. Well his defense couldn't stop OSU's 3rd stringer in his second start ever.
Don't forget Kiffen did it with a RB playing QB. I don't see how this is laid at Kiffen's feet. For once, this one was not on him. I'd be looking at the defenseI agree Kirby worse than Kiffin this year..........War Eagle dropped 40+ on them as well.
Kiffin set records I believe at Bama this year.....Kirby and the lousy defense helped him set those records as they got more chances.

I agree, plenty of time to game plan and confuse this 3rd string and make him feel the pressure of this game. Up 15, they should have put their foot on osu neck and beat them up. Similar to Oregon. However you continue to give a dead dog a chance to bark and they found found momentum after that 3rd td. Plenty of blame to go around. I'm from California and use to seeing kep play calling. Sucks as a play caller. It's not hard to make play calls when you have great offense stars. Should have pounded the rock.
