TEJADA'S NEWEST FANS@ Thanks to Miguel Tejada, Paula Bowen and her family could soon be moving into a new townhome.
Tejada's victory in the home run derby made Bowen the winner of $250,000 towards the purchase of a new home, courtesy of event sponsor Century 21.
Bowen, a stay-at-home mom in Renton, Wash., and her husband, Joel, frequently enter contests. They've won many times, including a vacation to Los Angeles over Memorial Day weekend.
That track record, plus a strong faith, led her to daydreaming about how they'd spend their winnings.
''We were kind of looking at townhouses, just for the fun of it,'' said Bowen, whose family includes children ages 2 and 14, plus 17- and 18-year-olds who don't live at home.
More than 115,000 people entered the sweepstakes but only eight made it to Houston. The finalists received airfare, hotel, transportation and tickets for two, plus $250.
