63% of Americans obese or overweight and we should "respect the choices people make". 1 in 7 New Yorkers born with diabetes and no one can see the fucking epidemic. It's everyone's problem. I still have to live around these people. People like that shouldn't make choices, especially when they don't know how to.

what do you know about minnesota? and its across the board racially. not just minorities. the country is a nation of anti-social fatties who just play with there toys all day. again, where are the parents? and no im not talking about just the one parent households that are more minority, im also talking about alot of the white 2 parent households where both parents are nowhere to be found. the female getting drunk and hiding it, and the male lying about being on a business trip and having an affair. kid gets no attention and will let outside forces influence them. thats america in 2008, and its just going to get worse.
and dont say my examples are rare, because they are not. you have over a 50 percent divorce rate in this country which can ruin a kid, and over a 40 percent high school drop out rate. american parents are not true parents, they are just an embarrassment. from the single parent minority raising there kid being too gullible and falling for man after man that just takes advantage of her, to the 2 parent joke of a household white family where you got an adulterer and a junkie for a wife, across the board parents dropped the ball, and its landed with a big thud!

First off, I despise fastfood and obese people more than anyone here i'd say. That said, it's all about CONTROL with them. Not letting obese people eat fast food. Sounds reasonable. However, this is just setting the precedent. They will move on, they will expand (as they always do) and soon it will be the big nanny government micromanaging the diet of every civilian. The totalitarian tip-toe.
Like I said: Marx's anti-religious, moral relativism. Though I shouldn't be purely picking on Marx. The intellectual secular-humanists have done much to dismantle religion and have manufactured a culture without morals. It's no coincidence that modern society is apathetic and without a sense of ethics. Say what you want about your religous beliefs, but religion has a function.
How about citizens excercising a little personal responsibility. My personal guarantee is in one year from now you will see no decrease in the amount of fat asses in this area.
Anyone in their thirties can look back at their grade school class pictures and notice only a couple of fat kids in each one. I remember the whole neighborhood outside playing baseball, basketball, football, hockey, biking, and just running around playing until it was too late or too dark. Now these fat little kids watch tv or play video games for five or six hours a day. It's all about parenting and getting the kids active (playing wii doesn't count) at an early age. IMO

arty:Right...because I'm sure there are no parks and recreational programs, pools, etc. already available to all residents in L.A. Maybe the LA should give everyone vouchers so they can install pools in their backyards and build home gyms for themselves. A personal trainer should be assigned to every block, and a massage therapist should give everyone a back rub every week. Surely this can't have anything to do with what people eat, because trans-fat donuts and lard burgers are great diet plans for healthy living.
Hey, it's better than banning certain restaurants from moving in. I suppose that if there was a demand for a more health cuisine, somebody would have been there already.
