Key Reason for Penn St. Win....
I see a lot of back and forth in regards to this play I have on Penn State. I know they are forecasting rain tomorrow night. Being the Big 10, most of the time that means running the ball. On the Iowa side, they are down to their 3rd backup already this season and Jewel Hampton and Jaime Murphy are out for the season. Greene left for the NFL and their starter was hurt before season even got started and is out for the season. Iowa is giving up 140 ypg on the ground compared to a paltry 46 ypg from Penn State. A team who is not a strong running football team going up against a team that plays the run extremely well is not a recipe for success on the road. Yes I know there is some injuries in the linebacking for Penn State but once again this is linebacker u where they simply bring in the next stud linebacker.
Knowing that Iowa can't run the football, lets look at the passing game. Iowa has 3 key injuries to WR Johnson-Koulanis, TE Moeaki, and OL Bulaga who all 3 are doubtful to play. These are also key components as much as injuries to Penn State linebacking core which includes Lee (doubtful), Bowman (probable), and Stupar who is questionable.
Penn State has only won 3 of last 10 matchups in Iowa series but the 2 key things that stood out was they outrushed Iowa by over 200 + yards in all 3 games and that when they won, they beat Iowa by 14, 20, and 24 points.
I also like the fact that 63% is on Iowa but line is not moving from the -9.5 for Penn State. Tells me the sharps are also on Lions.
Best of luck to all involved on this game regardless what the result but those that are with me on Penn State, will be cashing with you tomorrow night!
