Yep I think Kobe is the only one on the team with too much pride to tank the season as coaching & management are probably trying to do anyhow....

pride? lol
Kobe is a selfish SOB, he is eyeballing the all time scoring record, thats his goal. not winning. even though he will make it look like he wants to win

When he was younger, yes, he was just as you described.

I couldn't stand him.

But he grew up many years ago.

Obviously a top 10 player all-time.

If the they were both 18 I'd take Kobe over LeBron every time.

He's the closest we've seen to Jordan and nothing says more than that...

yeah Kobe and LeBron isn't close really. It's the other way though

I guess hitting the most sub-optimal shots looks nice on TV but every GM ever takes LeBron in his prime over Kobe. Atleast everyone that deserves the job they have

I'm not sure about that - Kobe has tremendous balls - Lebron has none - in the 4th Q Kobe will only pass up a shot if he knows someone has a better chance of scoring - Lebron is looking to pass right when the ball gets in his hands - Kobe also has 5 rings and beat SA 3x - and the one time LA lost in the finals it was because Detroit took a defensive strategy to double Kobe and not Shaq which was unheard of

Yeah sure he would've racked those rings up if he spent 7 years on the Cavs from '03-10.

I mean LeBron is better than him at everything but hitting tough shots, that does have a value late in the game when the D is digging in and the refs let you play more since its harder to get to the basket. LeBron is literally better at every other aspect of the game though.

Both guys on = teams for a 15 year period which team you think has more success?

I mean it ain't Tannehill over Andrew Luck crazy as far as opinions go but it's not really close either

LeBron is decisively better than him. Kobe is becoming slightly overrated historically because as time goes on all people do is sort by rings. A lot of luck/timing goes into that. Like landing on the Lakers and getting to play with Shaq for 8 years compared to Cleveland.

Also I think LeBron follows the same cut/bulk cycle as Chop. If you noticed during the summer he gaveup carbs/sugar to cut weight and now that winter is coming I guess he is going to gain some back with a dirty bulk.

Well Kobe is better at making plays when the game counts - I think many would agree that Lebron is one of the top 3 all time all around players - I just don't see him as a top 10 player - let's see how he does this year

I'm a die hard SA fan - never miss a playoff game - we have 3 more titles if not for Kobe so I he impresses me - and he did this with Bowen breathing down his neck - I think Shaq averaged 19 points a game in his prime with LA against us - with TD and Robinson we could prevent him from those 40 point games - the problem was Kobe

Celtics beat Kobe's Lakers in the finals in 2008.

Well Kobe threatened to not play for them so it wasn't necessarily willingly. If he hadn't threatened to not play fora bunch of teams, he would've gone way higher in the draft. Likely #8 to the Nets...

Like eli saying he didn't want to play for the chargers, lol. Maybe the patriots would have gone 19-0 haha

Kobe has probably read and believed his press clippings over time using his name and Michael's in the same sentence.

Kobe's lucky he was not in the same era with Jordan. Michael would have SOOOO torn his nuts off and embarrassed him!
