figured id post this heer since i know how everyone just loves the Vols at the rx

if this is any indication of Kiffins furure success at UT , he will be immortalized. the fans are thrilled with the hires. he cherry picked the other SEC staffs. he missed on a couple but hit on a lot

to quote Kiffin “To be able to take South Carolina’s recruiting coordinator, Mississippi State’s recruiting coordinator, Alabama’s best recruiter and Auburn’s best recruiter over the past 10 years was a great accomplishment for us,”

He went after Garner and Gonzales (recruiting coordinators from GA and FL as well)

Ed Orgeron - 2004 rivals.com national recruiter of the year, along with Lane Kiffin he played huge part in building USC dynasty. Also built current the Ole Miss team which could be preseason top 10-15 in 2009

Monte Kiffin - his father and arguably the best DC in the history of the NFL. in 12 yrs at Tampa bay he had a top 10 defense 10 times. Known for the "tampa two" defense

David Reaves - was Spurriers recruiting coordinator and qb coach at SC and lane's bro-in-law

Lance Thompson - LB coach comes from Sabans staff where he was the 2008 rivals.com national recruiter of the .nuff said.

Frank Wilson - hired last week as Miss St recruiting coordinator. oops, Lane KIffin called and hes off to knoxville as WR coach

Eddie Gran - rb and special team coach , was at Auburn in 2008 . has coached Cadillac Williams, Ronnie Brown, Rudi Johnsom, Duece Mcallister

Jim Chaney - plucked from the St Louis Rams where he was an assistant will be the OC. well known for being able to evaluate talent early he was in charge of Purdues nationally ranked offense from like 95 to 05

James Cregg - was on Kiffins staff with the Raiders will be the TE coach

Mark Smith - strength and conditioning coach , also left Spurriers staff to come to Knoxville

Willie Garza - has been DC at N DakotaSt past 4 years, played at Texas as a db in early 90's

Since he has left he has been negatively recruiting against South Carolina. He is the reason Giles picked SC over Tennessee because he saw through the shit that Reaves was spewing. You can't go selling a recruit on South Carolina on Monday to telling them on Tuesday how bad of a decision it would be to go to South Carolina and attend Tennessee. Reaves is now negatively recruiting with Alshon Jeffery, and has been since his hire. You don't do things like that against your former employer. Karma is a bitch. He already wasn't liked amongst many high school coaches as it is in the state. South Carolina isn't the biggest of states but it has some damn good recruits that don't always go to the 2 state schools and they get away to some out of state schools. Tennessee isn't going to find much luck there in the future.

blah, thats just rumor and sour grapes amongst gamecock fans over losing both him and the s&c coach (who is doing a fine job btw). show me something in print where a receruit says reaves badmouthed SC. TN has had success in SC for years and that wont change. Haynesworth, Shaun Ellis, Darwin Walker are all from SC and playing in the NFL just off the top of my head, of course SC fans are pissed

That is the most impressive list of coaches I have ever seen. I hope they succeed and I hope that old geezer in Oakland sucks a big one. The state of Tennessee should send him a thank you card. As far as recruiting goes, everyone does what ever it takes to get whoever they think they need. If you can steal someones prize it only makes it better. I have to admit that it appears that a lot of coaches couldn't wait to get the hell out of S Car. If Spurrier belittles his coaches like he does his players I can see why. I saw the kid from Midwest City, Oklahoma maybe changing his mind. Do you know anything on that.

don't get ahead of yourself.

David Reaves work with QBs was below average.

His was recruiting coordinator, the same coordinator that didn't sign 1 recruit in last years class.

Now, Mark Smith, he is a good guy and does a good job.

But don't put Reaves in his class cause its unjust to Smith.

Honestly losing Reaves doesn't piss any SC fan off.

A coach with class, who leaves a program for another school, doesn't call committed recruits and try to set up visits with them (Holloman). Check how Eric Wolford did his transition from Illinois to South Carolina. He never called this kid

Carter Waiting To Hear From Wolford

By Eric Guimaraes

OL Andrew Carter (6-6 265) of Tallahassee, FL says he has still not heard from Eric Wolford. "I talked to Coach (Dan) Dish and he told me that Coach Wolford wasn't going to try to take anyone with him to South Carolina just out of respect," said Carter. "He said Coach Wolford will wait until next week after things calm down and call all of us to explain his side to us." Carter says he is waiting to see who is hired to replace Wolford at Illinois. "Coach (Ron) Zook is going to hire someone real soon. The new coach is going to come see me and if I like him, I'll stay. If I don't, I'm opening it back up," he said. Carter does not expect to be recruited by Wolford at USC, but says he does not want to rule them out either. If he decides to decommit from Illinois, USC is one of the schools he would likely consider.

Lets clear something up.

John Hunt = Fired
Reaves = to work with his brother in law
Mark Smith = took considerable raise
Gillespie = took considerable raise
Cooper = was going to be fired

Gillespie was a good guy, good recruiter but SC was unwilling to match the salary he got from Ok St.

Mark Smith was good for S&C.

Cooper is responsible for a lot of the negative attitudes of the players in his secondary, wasn't getting along with Ellis Johnson, and did some things he was told not to. John Hunt hasn't produced a competent OL yet in 4yrs. I've already discussed Reaves.

riiiight, they all suck after the leave - thats classic!

i still dont see where reaves had any contact with anyone he recruited for SC? you posted an articale about a notehr coaches actions, but not reaves...what the point? just because TN adds a coach from SC's staff doesnt mean they have to stop recruiting anyone he was recruiting.

ashlon jeffrey is about the #12 player on my wishlist for the next 2 weeks. hes not that big of a deal.

it still sounds like sour grapes. you SC fans try to badmouth him because he left, not because hes actually done anything unethical.

----
theres some drama in knoxville today with aj mccarron (bama 4* qb commit). saban was scared to death hed go to UT so saban made him promise that he wouldnt take his visit to UT, then his dad told the world yesterday "hes a man of his word" and would not take his visit this weekend....well now hes rumored to have been spotted on campus in knoxville this afternoon.

now, since lance thompson recruited him for alabama - and thompson is now at UT- im sure the alabama fans will be crying too even though thompson has not contacted him since coming to UT

you guys might as well get used to it....i think other SEC fans will end up hating kiffin more than you ever did fulmer - even alabama fans, and thats saying a lot

I think I fairly evaluated each coach. You got a good one in Smith and not as strong of a coach as you think with your other. I'm fully confident Shane Beamer can handle being Recruiting Coordinator. G.A Mangus replaces Reaves at QB coach, he's run Spurrier's system as a walk-on and he really only has one guy to work with (Garcia) so Mangus will be judged right away as a QB coach. Eric Wolford replaces John Hunt. Wolford was named a Top 25 recruiter by rivals and has produced some good OL's at Illinois. Hunt hasn't produced a thing, and its not cause there isn't talent on the OL. Lorenzo Ward replaces Ron Cooper. Cooper could find underrated talent and he coached some good DB's that he sent to the NFL (Joseph, Robinson, Simpson, Fred Bennett) and now with Cook and Munnerlyn trying to go pro along with the seniors Carlos Thomas and Stoney Woodson. The fact remains that their was some stuff behind the scenes that affected the team. Lorenzon Ward is another good recruiter and he is Ellis Johnson's guy. VT fans had nothing but positives to say and the recruits love him. Jay Graham you should know a lot about, he is young and he is going to be able to relate with the RB's but Gillespie was solid at Carolina. Smith was excellent and the new guy can't be judged yet.

no, you implied david reaves is recruiting alshon jeffrey thus making "his name mud" in SC. back that up , where you see that at ?

im with ya on shane beamer though - he was a GA at UT and did a damn good job, i wish kiffin had got graham on his staff but he really wanst to severe all ties with the fulmer era.

SC isnt hurtin for coaching, but Spurrier was upset when Reaves left - cant deny that...and that alone brings joy to my day!
