stoner? show me a non physical d-man anywhere worth his salt and you have a found
a defensive liabilty. stoner is tough which is why he was highly sought after as a free agent.
tough + physical yes, offensively challanged yes, but goon hardly.

so stoner, the goon, by himself makes anaheim a goon team or are there more
goons not mentioned.

damn dude you should be a lawyer! :toast:

if you have been watching this series closely, you should of observed
that the blackhawks are not playing close to the same pace that they
were in game 1. this is due to the games being played every other
day, the physical toll that playing a bigger team that hits and leans
on you at every opportunity takes, the fact that chicago is only playing
4 defensemen most of the time, and the quality of the ducks hits
is far more viscious than their adversaries. overall the ducks have
outplayed the hawks for longer stretches. game 2 OT the ducks hit
one post and i believe 1 cross bar before losing. the hawks only
goal in game 3 came when 2 ducks collided. the hawks first goal
in game 4 came when a linesman interfered with a ducks dman
causing a breakaway. in the first OT of game 4 the ducks outshot chicago
17-5 inc the first 10 shots. to me, the hawks are incredibly fortuitous
to be tied in the series and their play has deteriorated from game 1
due to the physicality and lineup limitations that have occurred
so far. the ducks are trying to beat the hawks in the same style
the kings used. what the hawks have is mental toughness and
experience going for them. will that be enough to win this series,
IMHO no way.

well said.:toast:

No it wasn't well said, it was horseshit from a homer poster from southern California. The Hawks have not slowed down game to game nor period to period.

The Ducks are out-hitting the Hawks by a wide margin, that is true. But it hasn't manifested itself in slower game play.

And we can't play the "if this shot had gone in" game, or isolate the stats of one overtime period (in fact, he didn't even isolate one OT, he isolated one STRETCH of that OT lol). It's hockey, it sits how it sits.

The Hawks win tonight and finish Anaheim off in game 6. And I like Anaheim I really do. But experience will win out IMO.

Anaheim is a greasy, dirty team. Goon hockey at its finest, like the rest of those west coast teams. Superior skill and big game experience will prevail over the goon squad.

+1 I've been saying this for years. They are the dirtiest team in the NHL.

Kings beat them last year on the PP, that's how you beat goons.

I was saving that. Biggest bullet for last kinda thing. But yeah, Getlzaf is dirty for sure

I didn't want to take the time to go through an extensive list, but you guys are spot on with the make-up of this Ducks squad. Full disclosure, I am a diehard Hawks fan. I can take getting beat, but when goons are crossing the lines that separate "good tough hockey" from trying to put guys into the boards face first, that is a problem. Chicago has their work cut out for them, as I do think the physicality will catch up, but the Ducks are a dirty team, and those sentiments are felt league wide (outside of the LA area).

Perry is a dirty player.

No way......I disagree.......Perry and Getzlaf are 2 of the best players in the NHL.....Both are in the top 6 in the league.

I didn't say they weren't both good, but they ARE both dirty, ESPECIALLY Perry.

That has nothing to do with hate. I like Anaheim.

The L.A. area knows it too, just ask any Kings fan.

kings won cause they have tons of talented skilled players to go along with the tuff guyys
whom they let go, which is why they struggled this yr.

Kings struggled this year because their second best defenseman got busted for domestic violence, the NHL suspended him indefinitely, without letting LA clear the cap hit, so they were short a man the whole season.
