Here are some of the warning signs btw:

On her first day of practice Hnida found out how welcome she was. She says five teammates surrounded her and verbally abused her, making sexually graphic comments. During the season players exposed themselves to her "at least five times," she says. "They'd go, 'Hey, Katie, check this out!'" One player came up from behind, she says, and rubbed his erect penis against her.

I know, I've read all the articles. But what was she supposed to do? Was she supposed to quit the team? She shouldn't have to quit the team just because a bunch of jocks want to abuse and insult her. She shouldn't have to choose between playing football and not being sexually assaulted.
And it isn't like she could've complained to the coach/university. As we've seen, I seriously doubt Barnett would've taken her seriously. If she complains to the university, the rest of the team would consider her a rat, snitch, etc.
Darryl, I'm just playing Devil's Advocate with you here. I don't know what the answer is. I think allowing women to play football with the guys is gonna cause LOTS of problems, but I also think women (if they're good enough) should be allowed to play.
HOWEVER, I really don't know if Hnida was good enough. She wasn't even good enough to be the kicker for New Mexico! She got to kick some garbage-time XPs when New Mexico was winning 78-6 or something like that.
