You seem to be either genuinely hurt by the comments people made about the way the situation was handled, and/or you are using it as an excuse to air some vendettas.
The fact is that the way you handled GB had a negative impact on the entire posting body. The initial lack of action undeniably ran off good posters. Then he somehow keeps creating ghosts that have PM ability to harass your poster base. Now the way you are handling this is just further pushing your good posters away.
GB was wrong. His behavior was completely unacceptable by any standard, whether your perceive he was provoked or not, and regardless of whether or not EF called someone a faggot once or whatever. Anyone pointing this out is 100% right and well within their rights as a member of this community.
Did the criticism go a little far? Yeah maybe, but as a mod you need to rise above that shit. You should be embracing the valuable feedback from your core posting body, even if it is critical of you. You should be honored that people actually care about this place.
