I'm not speaking to you specifically but the sky is falling is a mindset people like to have because it is easier to justify saying the world is an F'd up place rather than it is to look at their own lives and realize maybe they aren't as content or happy has more to do with more internal factors.
This is a big reason most people who think the world is fucked are depressed.
There have been problems for thousands of years but we're living in a time period of unprecedented knowledge, technology and access to opportunity for your average citizen.
As a psychology major I concur in what you are saying 100% but... we are either heading into a golden age in humanity or heading to the gutter...l we are not there yet man and to "get there" there's a lot of BS that need to be stopped!
And drugs were harder to get, there was no crack or meth or PCP or fucking krokodyl.
Coke and heroin were for the art and music scene mainly!

That's what a sniper does, shoot from concealed positions, if there is some new kind of sniper, I'm all ears. And people who "embellish" something like he did, well, let's just say that's not somebody I'm interested in hearing more about.
