A lot of "hero ball" from him though.

I think, at this point, what separates the Cardinals from Buffalo or even Baltimore is that the QB has to run for the Bills or Ravens to be successful...the Cardinals have overcome that reliance and Murray can just hand-off and throw the ball and the team still can win. They have enough weapons so the threat of him running is enough. Baltimore, for instance, won't win if Jackson stops running.

Allen and Lamar are deadly and love their games but they both tend to take on the hits especially Josh who's a load. They have to avoid those hit by diving and stepping out of bounds like Kyler and Russell.

He's not going to stop running, though......because he can't be stopped.

It should also be noted that there isn't as much reliance on his legs - even with the running back damage - because of his improvement from the pocket.

His MNF performance against the Colts is as good as a QB performance as we've seen this season. He did most of his damage carving the Colts up through the air, and not with his legs.

Indeed. He is 35-8 as a starter 81% winning percentage at 24. He broke Marino's record for most wins by a QB under 25.

Just curious,

What were your thoughts when the Bills drafted him?

At the time Josh was very raw but had the heart of a lion. He has that drive...always strives to improve, so nobody should be surprised he's an elite starter at this point in his career.

Browns and Jets drafted higher and instead opted for Mayfield and Darnold.

Oops!

I think the knock on Allen at the time was playing in the MWC and, when Wyoming played anyone decent, he did not play well. Buffalo's scouts should be commended for not only the pick, but for a guy who wouldn't be deterred by Buffalo's weather. I still think Darnold will be better than Baker in the long run. I also think Allen is #1 among all of the young QB's and likely to stay there for a long time.

But Darnold has nothing on little Baker as far as commercial charisma and humor.

Much maligned Darnold was young and in an impossible situation with the Jets. IMO he is talented and will be a solid starter for many years now that he has experience, a good coach, and a decent team around him.

Bears should have gone after Darnold rather than spend so much for unproven Fields, but the public outcry for Fields pushed them...

Yep and Ohio State still looking for their first ever decent QB in the NFL. It's the system.

They have a lot to prove still. Don’t fall for the October statement win. They are gonna struggle to beat KC when it really matters IMO

But more on topic: Allen is good!
Came true last year. Let’s see if it holds up again

Allen has more total yards this season than 25 NFL teams.

Guess the Bills' early bye week finally giving everyone the chance to catch up ?
