Read the facts in the article.

Again, How does it feel to be a one percenter?

You mean one of 3.5 million? I'm ok with that.

You wingnuts are so happy Stewart isn't gonna be around to call out fox and repubs for all their bullshit.

Imagine how how stupid you have to be to say a show is unsuccessful that ran for 16 years and still could be going. Do you ever read what you post? Really dumb shit

Funny to watch fringe idiots try so hard to diminish his show. A 16 year run and could have gone for 16 more if he wanted.

All upset because he shows video of Fox News and republicans speaking their own words.....while making fools of themselves.

The Guiding Light was on TV for 57 years.

Your point?

I'm not sure his show could have gone on another 5-10 years. I am posting an article from February that isn't meant to diminish Stewart, as I often watched him 7-8 years ago. I am posting this article simply to show that his audience was getting older and his audience was becoming largely educated liberal elites. Not the strongest TV demographic.

When compared to late night shows on nbc and cbs.....he will lose that comparison.

Hard to gauge his viewership because it's been mostly the young demographic who typically won't be watching cable TV to see him.....for the most part.

I doubt he was in danger of not continuing and I think the replacement will probably fail after an initial first couple of show views. That alone I think will show Stewart's personality was driving force.

I don't think he was in danger of not continuing, I'm just not sure he could have gone on another decade. Who knows how that type of show looks or fares in the future, though. I'm just pointing out that the average age of his viewer was rising. I think some of that has to do with his show not being quite as good as it was when I watched, but I could be wrong. Who knows. Agree that his show is essentially going to die with him.

only you and devout Fox News viewers would consider Fox to be fair and balanced. Normal people realize they are extremely biased.

Except I never said was Fox was fair and balanced, idiot.

Why can't you read?

As I said, you are so intellectually lazy it is kind of embarrassing.

3.5 million viewers. Lying again huh Dave?

3.5 million viewers means 1% of America watched. There is no "lie" and you ought to get better at math.

The fact that you think Stewart somehow merely showed people "speaking their own words" is priceless.

Don't worry, you also believe the Planned Parenthood videos were "heavily edited"

The idea that Stewart would edit videos actually never even occurs to you.

This is a pretty good overview of Stewart

Mr. Stewart is among the lowest forms of intellectual parasite in the political universe, with no particular insights or interesting ideas of his own, reliant upon the very broadest and least clever sort of humor, using ancient editing techniques to make clumsy or silly political statements sound worse than they are and then pantomiming outrage at the results, the lowbrow version of James Joyce giving the hero of Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man the unlikely name of Stephen Dedalus and then having other characters in the novel muse upon the unlikelihood of that name. His shtick is a fundamentally cowardly one, playing the sanctimonious vox populi when it suits him, and then beating retreat into “Hey, I’m just a comedian!” when he faces a serious challenge.
...
His intellectual biography is that of a consummate lightweight — a William and Mary frat boy who majored in psychology, which must have been a disappointment to his father, a professor of physics — and his comedy career has been strictly by-the-numbers, from the early days on the New York City comedy-club scene to changing his name (Mr. Stewart began life as Mr. Leibowitz) and a career-boosting stint on MTV, where he was second only to Beavis and Butt-Head in the ratings. He subsequently may have matched Beavis and Butt-Head’s popularity, but he has never risen to comparable heights of social insight.

You're not normal, florence.

But let's recap things:

Me: "Stewart didn't attack Fox because they're so biased, he did it because he's a Democratic party hack"

You: "You believe Fox is fair & balanced, ZOMG!!!"

You're a complete fucking idiot.
