At 40 with MRI confirmed New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers tore his left Achilles tendon in Monday night's win over the Buffalo Bills, sources said Tuesday morning, ending his season only four plays after it began.

May be time to retire

Several times Josh Allen chose contact or an unnecessary leap instead of being smart and avoiding injury.

He won’t make it thru the season this way.

Sure, some times you do whatever it takes but he took ridiculous risks.

Before the half looked like on 3rd and long he flailed straight into 2-3 defenders to gain an extra yard or two when the sticks were a solid 5+ yards away. So unnecessary and stupid

I’ve been as big of an Allen skeptic as anyone here

But I wouldn’t panic if I was a Bills fan. Seems like there is a bit of an overreaction going on about his performance

They’re gonna be fine

That’s brutal for the media, Rodgers last polarizing QB really, playing for the New York team
Whether he was good or not, it had intrigue to it

Jets should probably call Matt Ryan or something, Wilson has been rough

the new school QBs just don’t drive the same level of polarization

I wasn't rooting for the Jets either way this year, but Rodgers out there adds something extra to the season.
Some here say it's not much of a drop off to Wilson.. Maybe the dumbest football taker I've ever heard on this site.

They went from an 8-win team to a 6-win team probably

They got one in the bag though

If Rodgers is out for the season or some shit like that, happy to call off the wager
Just catching up on the Jets / Miami threads.

Naw. You're a gentleman for offering the out. I respect that. But I always honor any bets I make. Injuries are to be expected. Heck, the fact that Tua gets dinged so often figured into my thought process for the bet. Ironic that it's Rogers who got taken out so quickly.

I also had faith in the Jet Defense. That faith got reinforced last night. That's a mean D. And I believed in their running game. That also got reinforced last night. Cook and Hall are a tough one, two punch. Maybe Wilson learned some humble pie and skill management while being benched for Rogers. He has the tools.

Let the bet ride. I'm not throwing in the towel yet.

On a side note, after Week one it looks like the Division is gonna be a dogfight. I'm not ruling either the Jets or Patriots out yet. The Pats need to beat Miami on Sunday. They showed me that they can do it once they righted their early miscues against Philly. Don't know if they will but they can.

I think it's gonna be a fun season in the AFC East.

If Rodgers started & finished every game they would’ve been 10-11 game winners.

That's bad for the league and bad for the fans. Nothing to be clapping about.

I feel bad for Rodgers, but kind of ready for the last of these old, polarizing QBs to be gone
Be careful for what you wish for. Last couple of QB drafts don't inspire much as far as needle movers.
Jones
Wilson
Stroud
Richardson
Ridder
Young
Fields
Howell

These are starters ? Nothing I can get excited about any of these guys.
Pickett looks like a 12-15 year guy playing for an iconic franchise. That's about it
Been downhill since the Burrow, Tua, and Herbert class.

League will always have some great , mid, and bad starting quarterbacks

Franchises reaching for mediocre to bad quarterbacks isn't something new

We'll see about Pickett , we don't know enough yet
