I saw bits of the match. Malisse was in good condition. Nalbandian just seemed to be playing at a very good and consistent level. Will be interesting to see if he can maintain it and make this a bit of a breakthrough tournament for him. Maybe the new coach is really helping him?

M Kirilenko (RUS) -3.5 games over J Vakulenko (UKR)-- 1.19u to win 1u....Maria handled Julia at Melbourne Park in Jan, in a tightly contested 3 set match. She didn't cover this line. Maria's form is entirely different now, and has been for some time. Gone is her dad as her coach FINALLY--she's with Van Harpen and the results are showing. Since San Diego she has resembled the promising player from 2005 with quality wis over Jankovic, Bartoli, Safarova and Srebotnik.....i'm not buying Julia's quickly found game here at Flushing.

likely last tournament of the yr for me, if not much available rest of the week, this may be my last play of the yr, lol. Hasn't been a very good tournament for me, proceed with caution.
S Williams (USA) +4 games over J Henin (BEL)-- 1.08u to win 1u.....can Justine take her down THREE times in Grand Slams in a calender yr? at RG expected result, at Wimbledon Serena was clearly playing thru injury--now both are healthy, playing on fast hc. Serena has looked better and better as she has progressed, no surprise as she had no warm-up tourney. She has yet to drop a set. These two have met 11 times since '01, Serena leading 6-5. Two of those matches were played on hc, Henin not covering this line in either, infact losing outright in both. In Justine's 5 wins over Serena since '01 she has covered this line only twice, BOTH COVERED MATCHES ON CLAY (her strongest surface, Serena's weakest).This HAS to be the ideal setting for Serena to knock off Justine-- US soil, fast hardcourt, evening session Arthur Ashe stadium. This match should be a cracker, like their earlier meeting at Maimi this yr, Serena winning in 3. Taking the 4 games here, should be a great atmosphere at Arthur Ashe stadium, enjoy the match.

just didn't see anythign I really liked this past week.......sometimes the best plays are the no plays
post-US Open
-careful betting the big favs, be selctive with parlays. Players are winding their seasons down, motivation becomes a big issue for various players
-indoor carpet to begin soon. Low bounce and v fast conditions. Breaks are at a premium, large dogs who own big serves are a strong consideration on the handicaps
- travel becomes an issue when players (WTA,ATP) hit the Asia swing. 1st rd is often a mindfield
