What do you mean contends in most years? Houston is a 30 win team right now.

If they can use their cap room/picks in the next few years to supplement Harden they could be solid but they are far from a contender right now.

That being said, yeah I think it was a solid deal for them to get him.

He said hope he enjoys the lottery as if Houston is such a bad team and never contends, I am saying they aren't usually a lottery team

OKC just seems like one of those teams who may never really put it together. It'll be a trivia question in a few years. Who played the Heat in the finals when they won the title? Not many years you can just rely on really really good shooting. Defense always will win over great shooting.

I don't think you realize KD will be the best(or 2nd best if you prefer lebron) player in the league the next 10 years. He has all the skills and is still one of the most hard working players in the league

Houston hasn't made the playoffs the past 3 seasons. Yes, he should be amped about playing for the them. The best GM in the league robbed Daryl Morey.

OKC will not finish in the top 3 in the west. They will face the Lakers in the 2nd round of the playoffs if they get that far and it won't be pretty. I also believe that Harden was as good as he was because all the attention was on stopping Westy and Durant. He could turn to bust quickly. I don't think he's a star at all. Houston does not all of a sudden become a playoff team. They aren't good.

Get paid? He got an extra $4.5M. I hope enjoys the lottery.

Incorrect. OKC offered 4 Years $52 million. He will get 5 years and around $78 million from Houston.

Anyone giving Harden shit for taking more money is an idiot. OKC are the cheap asses here, they low balled because they didn't want to pay the tax on a team that could win a title.

You need star power in the NBA. Great move for the Rockets because it takes alot of the pressure off of Lin. Great move for OKC because he wasn't going to get MAX money there and now they add a young stud vastly underrated SG in Lamb and not to mention they'll now have 3 first rounds picks next season which they may be able to trade to move into the top 5 and grab someone like James McAdoo or Nerlens Noel. Presti is the Boss!

I wouldnt pay Harden that much money, good player who fit in great with their system but is very replaceable all he does is score

My prediction is Lakers will not play well and maybe miss the playoffs.

I was thinking the same thing. Pre-season success is usually a good way to gauge the bench play. Lakers bench doesnt seem to be strong at all. The starters, of course are old and not playing hard. But didnt look very impressive. I am thinking a low seeded playoff team. Lots of good teams this year, especially in the west

Officially signed extension for 5 years $80 million. Seems like it worked out alright for him. $28 million more than OKC had on the table

Wow

James Harden set his sights on the Houston Rockets earning the number one seed in the Western Conference after his sensational season continued with another NBA record.
In 29 minutes and 34 seconds on court in Friday's home match with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Harden became the first player in NBA history to score a 40-point triple double in fewer than 30 minutes.
Harden had 43 points, 10 rebounds and 12 assists in a performance that included eight three-pointers, as the rampant Rockets routed the Cavs 141-113 with their MVP candidate able to watch from the bench for the whole fourth quarter after another amazing feat.
