NES forgot to mention Manuel Antonio has a huge gay community, but it is a much better option than Jaco. If you want to give Guanacaste a shot, I would recommend Tamarindo. Good location, fun place, good restaurants, night life is cool and not as dangerous as Jaco and the best of all is that you have several nice beaches with good waves within a 30 min drive or less (Avellanas, Playa Grande, Playa Negra, Langosta). If you stay in Tamarindo you're pretty much within walking distance of most bars and restaurants.

Jaco is generally reserved for hooker and coke binges Im not saying you wouldnt have a good time there, just dont get in the water is all. Ask the locals where to go in CR if you want to see some good shit.

Jaco is is the armpit of Costa Rica, but it's a damn fun party town man. It all depends where you go.

Stay away from any club that plays reggueton, and you'll be fine.

LOL. Don't have a death wish bro. Bombs man, I paddled out and got murdered...longest hold down of my life.

On Sunday I went to Banderas...conditions same as Hermosa but not as heavy.

I might be headed down this coming weekend, but just for the day, I'll give you a call.
