Tiger's game is approaching David Duvalesque. He will be doing good to make a cut, much less win a tournament. The obvious fact is his head is no longer in it and he's starting to embarrass himself. Considering how far he is behind with this new swing coach, I wouldn't ever put any money on him. If he misses the cut next week he won't qualify for any WGC this year because he is out of the top 50. I'll personally be shocked if he wins any tournament this year, even the smaller ones. If he can't get it done this year, he needs to retire and fade away.

David Duval comparisons.........Too early for that..........People were telling Brady to retire after the Monday Night Kansas City debacle early in the season and basically saying that era was finished.

I think there are a lot of parallels to Duval. Some here may have forgotten how good Duval really was back then. He won 13 tournaments in a very short time. He was also a monster in the workout room like Tiger is. Then his body broke down, and he never found a swing that will not break it again. And we all know with Tiger, it's not if he will get another injury, but when. If he gets very very lucky and somehow avoids injury, he might be able to make a minor comeback. But I tend to believe what Peter Kostis said about Tiger. That he's never seen Tiger make this big of a step backwards whenever he's come back off injuries. I could be wrong, but i think Tiger has a long ways to go. It's tough when you can't find the bottom of your swing. Especially when you're out on the course...

Woods erratic in Wednesday's Torrey Pines pro-am

SAN DIEGO – After shooting the worst score of his pro career, Tiger Woods said he spent the past few days chipping in his backyard and trying to commit to the new swing pattern.
“I’m always making progress,” he said Wednesday at Torrey Pines. “It’s just that I still need to stick with it and keep doing it.”
Woods played the North Course during the tournament pro-am, which was reduced from 18 to nine holes because of fog.
There were still areas of concern in his game – he hit only two fairways and missed several greens – and he spent extra time chipping and pitching around the greens, often hitting dozens of shots before moving on to the next hole.

Some chips were good. Others … not so much.
“I’m caught right dead in between (swing patterns),” he said. “They are so polar opposites, the movement patterns, that when I do half of one or half of the other, it’s pretty bad.”
It’s never been worse than last Friday, when Woods shot a second-round 82 – his highest score as a professional – and tied for last place at the Phoenix Open.
That performance sparked plenty of debate and opinion, but Woods said his phone has been turned off over the past few days.
“I’ve just been working on my game,” he said. “Chris (Como) and I.”
After leaving his home in Florida, Woods spent Tuesday at girlfriend Lindsey Vonn’s ski race in Colorado. He is an eight-time winner at Torrey Pines, including his last major championship at the 2008 U.S. Open.
“It’s certainly a process,” Woods said. “I’m going through it right now, and Chris and I are working our tails off to try to get this. I want to get this. I want to be ready come Augusta and the rest of the majors, but we still have some work to do.”

since mid-July on the Euro/International tour last 7 events; 1st,1st ,1 st ,2nd ,2nd ,2nd ,1st.......that's absurd :). He won Dubai last week. Second half of his PGA season ended with wins at The PGA Championship (A TREMENDOUS rally :)..), The British, 2nd at the Tour Championship . PGA Player of the Year and the Vardon Trophy winner.

I remember Duval well, especially since he went to Georgia Tech here so his name was always in the local news and tv here..........Then he just fell off the face of the Earth............One of strangest things I've seen as he was really dominating in a shorter time frame whereas Tiger was obviously dominating for awhile............I'm just not ready to say Tiger has fallen off the face of the Earth after a bad start to the year...........By the time we get to Augusta here we'll have a great idea where to label him at that point....I was in Augusta last month actually for part of the day (a bunch of fog everywhere at the time)

We should know where he stands by the Masters. The one thing going in his favor is at least he's getting an early start to the season. But it sure looks like he's going to have to put in a lot of reps to become competitive again. Especially in majors.
