Frequently Asked Questions

How can I enter? You need to enter in person at the Westgate (LVH) Superbook.

How do I put my weekly plays in? All plays must be entered in person, each week, by yourself or your registered Proxy

What if I dont live in Las Vegas? If you dont live in Las Vegas, then when you sign up for the Supercontest, you need to also register your PROXY, who can put in the plays for you, unless you plan on traveling to Las Vegas every week for 17 weeks to put in your plays.

Does my proxy need to register at the same time I do? Yes, both you and your proxy must be registering at the same time.

What if I decide I need a Proxy after the contest starts? If you find out or decide you need/want a Proxy during the contest, you can sign on your Proxy at anytime, but you both must be in person at the Westgate to make the change

Does a Proxy have any access to any winnings? No, a Proxy has no access to any winnings, they are only authorized to put in weekly picks

Why does my Proxy need to show up in person when I register? You both need to show ID, and you need to sign saying you are giving permission for your Proxy to put in plays on your behalf

What if I miss a week or two in the contest? If you miss even 1 week without putting in plays, you are more than likely out of the main contest. But, you are still eligible for the end of the year (last 3 weeks) contest for the best record, as long as you participate in all 3 last weeks.

When is the contest final? The contest is final 3 business days after the final weeks standings are posted.

If I win any money, do I have to pick it up in person? No, you do not. There are a few options on how you can collect your winnings.

Can my Proxy pick up any winnings for me? No, Proxy's have no access to any winnings and are unable to pick up any winnings on your behalf.

Are any winnings taxed? Yes, any winnings are taxed if you are a resident or citizen of the United States, and you will recieve a 1099 for tax purposes

How many entries can I have? You can have up to 2 (two) entries per person.

When are the picks due each week? If you are playing any game before Sundays games, ALL plays for that week must be in before the kickoff of that game. If you are playing the games on Sunday and Monday, all plays must be in by 11am Sunday morning. *If you are using a Proxy, they will more then likely require you give them your plays before any deadlines*

Can I change my plays before any of the games start? No, all games are set and final once they are inputted into the system and you recieve your entry ticket for that week.

How long is the contest? The contest is the full regular season of the NFL (17weeks)

If anyone has any other questions or comments, please feel free to ask! You can ask in this thread, message me through the RX pm, or email me direct Proxy@ProxyVegas.com

Good luck this year everyone!! Contest is right around the corner, no time to waste if you are contemplating entering or not.

I really hope they change the payout structure this year. Tournament has grown so much and it's way too top heavy

I agree, to at least pay top 40, at max top 50.

The format is quite a bit outdated, and I would love to see more people paid!

Yeah at 1500 entries, even top 50 would be 3% of the field.

I think they should pay out At Min Top 100 (It really should be based on entries)

But 1500 entries at $1500 buy in is a 2.25 mil prize pool

1st 25% would be $562,000
2nd Place 12% $270,000
3rd place 7% $157,500
4th place 5.5% $123,700
5th place 4% $90,000

(Tired of doing the math)

70-84 places 0.17% $3825 2.38%
85-100+places 0.13% $3000 (Double your entry) 1.95%

But taking an extra 10% from the winner goes a long long way of paying out more people, and more people that cash is better for the future of the contest

the biggest change they need to make is eliminate the Thursday game and go with lines later in the week.. Wednesday's line is not consistent with the real line

i can see this.. but at the same time, I don't have a problem with people trying to beat the line movement. I think that angle is pursued too hard. I dont disagree though - I just think the payout structure is a much, much bigger issue

It certainly blew up HARD in some folk's faces LY, that Bills game that had to be moved cuz the stadium was buried in Snow?

Another one also....which I forget. Line 5 points off also. Totally crashed and burned.

Seems to me that strategy didn't work overly well last year....on a big picture, yearlong basis.

I don't too much mess with it, as a "primary strategy" anyways but I do seem to recall being surprised how often it didn't work LY.

Some say thats how Fezzik won his back to backs in 1847 and 1848 or whatever years it was he won those.

Sniping Bad Lines lol.

regarding pay structure...i think it should be a standard poker structure with zero vig. so basically top 10% should cash. Min cash is between 1x-2x buyin amount.

For you $3,000,000!!!

$300 and NO commission on any winning

I feel like you would do way better offering an option of payment upfront or a commission based structure where you get equity.

Some people might not wanna pay $300 but they wouldn't mind paying you 1-2k if they cashed big. Parting with 1-2k out of 10k can be a lot easier than parting with 300 out of 0 winnings.

NFLT might rather just get 300 than deal with the tax headache if people hit big which would make sense.

I prefer to get just a flat fee up front, and don't have to deal with anything else the whole rest of the contest.

Flat fee + no commission ever = Winnar Winnar!!

How many people do you do this for a year?

If you had like 20 horses having 5% of them might not be a bad idea incase someone gets hot and binks a big score.
