Well, first off I like to just say that I had 8 CONSECUTIVE WINNING WEEKSin CBB. Just thought some might enjoy hearing it again.
icon_eek.gif
LMAO. JUST KIDDING.
icon_biggrin.gif
You know me always trying to keep the balance in LIFE thing going.
icon_rolleyes.gif

OK, the on to the Serious Topic. Hmmmm....Ok I got it. Here they are.
icon_wink.gif

1. THE PROGRAM- I cant believe all you football fans missed that one. Basic truth to the whole Big Time CFB life of the Athletes involveds. The truth is in the pudding, and this movie is the closest I seen to my own personal experience in the pudding.

2. RUDY- That LITTLE SHIT made me cry in the end.
icon_mad.gif
But, it reminded me that every DOG has its day. When something touches your inner emotions of happiness and gives you a good feeling inside like this movie did, I mean, how can you not remember it.
icon_smile.gif

3. THE NATURAL- Awesome movie that shared with me alot of valuable lessons of wisdom and humility and strength in believing and standing up for who you are and what you are. Also let me remember that it aint over till you say its over Baby! Plus two very important LESSONS to be learned, One, Some Old Dudes Can Still Kicked Young ASS, so watch out Co-Captain, you young Buck.
icon_rolleyes.gif
And two, watch the fvck out for them fvcked up wacko BITCHES.
icon_eek.gif
Remember Gang them women, who I dearly LOVE and RESPECT eventhough its hard to tell, but I do believe me I do. They out number us men in the world 7-1
icon_biggrin.gif
, but because of this fact, there is going to be some WACKO broads out there, who is going to be on your TOP 7 list, so BE CAREFUL. She might miss, and shoot your NOODLE off instead.
icon_eek.gif
Talk about NO NOODLE SYNDROME
icon_frown.gif
LOL.

4. THE WATERBOY- I needed to throw in a comedy in there, remember balance in life and emotions are very important. But, this movie also reminded me somewhat of myself. I was a Linebacker and was always thought by my father who was a Coach, to alway take the heads off of running backs and whomever had the ball, nothing more and nothing less. If I may share a quote from my Linebacker Coach from HS. "I want you to hit that Mutha F'er so HARD that his eyes pop out of his Fvckin head and flys into the soda cup of the guy sitting in the Fvckin 20th row". Ah brings back SWEET memories of my youth. Funny thing is, I was attending a All Boys Private Catholic School, with the whole 9 yards of Priest, Sisters, detention, Prayers, and shit, in HS. WOW, What language.
icon_eek.gif
LOL

5. TOP GUN-Ok , I know not a sports movie, but there was a scene in there where they were playing beach volleyball, so I thought it sneaked in to the catergory. Top Gun is actually my favorite movie of ALL TIME BABY! Got it all, Tough Macho Men doing Macho Ass shit stuff, like killing and blowing up people, riding motorcycles, buzzing the tower, beefing with other guys, and chasing women. You then got nice looking Women, acting all tough and shit, only to give into the confident guy who knows how to be and act like a Man. And last buy not least, you got the beer and the Karaoke part. And I do love to sing me a tune when I am downing a few brewskis Baby! "You never close your eyes anymore when I kiss, your LIIIIIPS, and there's noooo tenderness, like before in your finger tiiiips. Your trying hard not to show it BABY, but baby, baby I know it. You've lost that lovin feelin, woo that lovin feelin, bring back that lovin feelin cause it gone gone gone, woo-oo da da da da....." Ok, thats enough of that shit.
icon_rolleyes.gif

-Bull Durham, The Replacements, 1st and 10 the Series, The Playmakers Series, Hoosiers, 61, Tin Cup, Slapshot, All the Right Moves, Major League.

Field Of Dreams is in its own league. It transcends 'sports movies' and is one of the best movies of all-time IMHO.

8 Men Out and North Dallas Forty are also quite good.

Bang the Drum Slowly is depressing but well done. Surprised nobody mentioned it.

Same with Pride of the Yankees. Classic with Gary Cooper about Lou Gehrig. That speech...
sad.gif

The Babe w/ John Goodman

Damn Yankees

Heaven Can Wait

Need help with a couple of names. The ESPN movie about Hedake Smith. Kudos to the poster who used that as his moniker. LMAO!

The one about the kid MLB manager. Original was in the 40's I think, but there was a remake in the 90's I think, where the kid manages the Twins. The kid puts the pitcher at 3rd base for one batter so he can stay in the game (at least in the original). Pricelss.

lol, Spacious K, give Cubsmac a break.

I guess you can goof on me too. I'm with you Cubsmac. Even though it was about Girls' baseball, it was a hoot. tom Hanks was great and you've got to love Geena Davis. What a woman! What is she, 6'1"? The line 'there's no crying in baseball,' alone makes it a claasic.

He Got Game is the one with Ray Allen filmed at Lincoln High School, right? several prominent coaches in it too. Spike Lee's best?

Can you please refresh my memory on Soul ofthe Game and For the Love of the Game.

Co-Captain: Why not add Arli$$ and that series about a SportsCenter type show, Sports Night? We might need a separate catagory for TV shows. I liked Playermakers and 1st and 10 too.

Surprised nobody mentioned Rollerball. Most probably never saw the original, which was superior.

THC: I think the name might be The Kid. Just saw the promo for the remake on cable, so it will be running this month. Pride of the Yankees is a new classic? lol, its from the 40's or 50's. Stillcan't remember the Hedake Smith movie. It's about a college bookie based on a true story. Smith is the player who shaved the points.

Great night again THC! I was with you again. Thanks for your input and newly found high road. I don't post in the middle of the child wars and try not to read them. Uselss clutter inhibiting the quest for info. Sorry to see you on Duke. UConn is more experienced and better when healthy imho. Are you going by regular season stats? Huskies sucked on the road this year, but are clicking on all cyliders now. Sorry this is in the wrong thread.
