sfeiner,
My fault for not listing the Silver Moon Cafe. By all means, this is a place to die for. The food is downright home cookin' at its finest. 10 X better than Lambert's Cafe, but no one can touch Lambert's rolls.
fishhead,
TJ Ribs is very casual. It's an LSU joint, by all means. Walk in there and you will see what I mean. I've had some very good ribs in my time, but I will put TJ Ribs up against any rib joint in Memphis and it will give them a run for their money.
IF anyone is venturing down to New Orleans, do yourself a favor at eat at Jacque-imo's, just off of Carolton, on Oak Street. A local joint, as a matter of fact, it's a shot-gun house, but it is the best food I have ever eaten. Also, in Metairie, try Zea's Rotisserie ... another fine choice, especially when you order the corn grits.
Hope this helps.
