The Italy hot zone is directly related to the 500k Chinese (350k legal, 150k illegal) that are largely concentrated in northern Italy. A decade ago most famous Italian garment factories, especially the high-end leather ones, either sold out to Chinese companies who sent cheap labor to Italy to work the factory or the Italian company brought in Chinese to pay them below-normal wages. Instead of moving the factories to China they kept them in Italy so they could use the "Made in Italy" label that people buying high-end leather jackets/purses/shoes want to see. The city Prato, in Tuscany, is called "Little China"...

well, the vast majority of these workers are from the Hubei Province, and city of Wuhan specifically, which is a heavy garment-factory place in China. and, many of these workers returned home for Chinese New Year which was January 25, 2020 and returned to northern Italy with largely asymptomatic Covid-19. If that's not bad enough the liberal asshole Mayor of Florence saw the tide of anti-Chinese sentiment growing so pushed a "hug the Chinese" program in Italy which is about as opposite of Social Distancing as you can get, thus many Italians contracted the virus in northern Italy. and, the virus has spread quickly since February and the average age of death is around 80 YO so, like any other flu or SARS virus, is particularly risky for elderly.

and, that, my friend is why northern Italy with their daily direct flights in/out of Wuhan for the leather garment industry, has been so badly affected

it's possible, but unlikely given that those networks aren't news sites anymore they're just clickbait whores

last I saw the MSM was holding to the Italy crisis as being started by two tourists in Rome who were immediately quarantined. For point of reference Rome is 3 hours from Florence & Prato and 6 hours from Milan which is where the outbreak is severe. This has everything to do with the timing of the virus (Chinese New Year last week of January) and the thousands of northern Italian garment workers who returned home to Hubei Providence for the holiday and brought the virus back with them.

I posted plenty of MSM links to show the origin of the Chinese workers in northern Italy but the current MSM and their "open borders" narrative will not allow them to explain why northern Italy has been ravaged by Covid-19....thus....let's blame it on two tourists in Rome

Or maybe their garbage socialist healthcare system is overwhelmed and can't handle a surge in the flu, so people who need oxygen are being left to die. Don't forget, we are talking about a continent that lost 70,000 people in a heatwave - a friggin' heatwave! Imagine if these people had to deal with real disasters like hurricanes?

1) 3rd oldest country in the world by avg age of citizen
2) sold off the entire northern Italian textiles market to china who sent at least 350k, and likely closer to 500k, to the region to work in factories
3) direct flights to/from Wuhan which were not blocked until a week after Chinese New Year (jan 25) when they were already back in Italy working
4) Italians encouraged to "hug a Chinese" on the street so they know you're not, well, racist
5) regional quarantine for No Italy not imposed until 03/08, nearly 40 days after first case

very similar to the Qom situation and time line who are now trying to blame American sanctions on their outbreak. unfortunately for both countries the timing of the Chinese New Year could not have been worse

I actually did read something like a week ago about possible genetic predisposition as it relates to Italians/Spaniards. I'll try to find it, can't remember where it was right now, kinda turned my brain off (what little of it is actually on) about the medical side of this stuff.
