Not many workplaces where they play the national anthem before your shift.

But let's go ahead and follow out your logic. Two question comes to mind.

Who sets the rules in the workplace? The owners do sir.

And what rules are they violating?

1) None do but the NFL does. That's all that matters. The 1st Amendment doesn't apply to the workplace. End of story.

2) The boss does.

3) Until the boss says they can't do it, they can do it.

Just making the point the 1st Amendment is not in play in this situation.

thanks for the honest and fair replies. Can I ask one more?

Would you feel the same way if they were protesting lack of government support for troops when they came home? Things like PTSD support, job placement, general healthcare and other services? Basically if the message was we are not standing until we treat our vets properly as a country...would everyone still be boycotting that isn't watching ?

I don't really care about this protest and it isn't really personal to me like some of the posters here. I'm interested in the law and the business decisions being made here. I find it kind of fascinating actually.

I'd say the same thing for any protest. People's 1st Amendment rights are not protected while at the workplace.

so would you personally be ok with it if they did a better job of articulating the issues they are trying to bring attention to?

Yawwnnn........Stand, don't stand. it doesn't matter to me. Way to get caught up in other peoples lives.

If more people worried about themselves instead of what some NFL players were doing we all would be better off.

Looks like fans didn't follow Packers & Aaron Rodgers request to lock arms during national anthem.

They're protesting because they happen to not like the president.

These players are worse than OWS - easily the lamest "protest" in history. And if that isn't funny enough, the petty morons are probably looking at significant reductions in revenue pissing off millions of fans.

For what? Because Trump hurt their feewings!

Sure, if America has done something gravely wrong to them to protest (say for example when the Japanese Americans were put into camps during WW2) that was an issue that is on Americas hands at the times.

Put what are they protesting? Very few random acts by even fewer random people?

Whats the protests about?
