The East has won twice since 1998 - more importantly, all the teams in the West are much much better - the East has been competative three times in the finals since 1998 - all the other finals were blowouts - there have been several years where the 7th or 8th team from the West would beat the top East team - have a committee and reseed the teams - it's not like MLB - these teams play each other all year.

The Knicks, Nets (2x), 76'ers and Cavs would not make it out of the first round in the West but somehow found themselves in the finals - one injury away from a ring.

Thats a good point. But who knows there might be a big trade on draft day , and one of those studs may be heading towards the Atlantic. I doubt it too, but who knows ... the tides have a funny way of shifting. Maybe Lebron gets his 2nd Superstar sooner than we think or Garnett decides to switch leagues. I certainly agree that the West is the superior conference, don't get me wrong. Just attempting a little Devils advocate here , especially when I read a title to a post saying the NBA should step in and do something about it. Because the NBA will look at the same statistics I just pointed out in my above post ... The numbers of WINNERS represented by each Conference over set period of time ... and those numbers are dead-even.

Look for the Bulls to making waves in the draft via trade. Like to thank Portland for the Aldridge for Tyrus Thomas trade. Probably why they at the top of the draft pecking order again.
