That's because thats the easy thing to do...blame Bush. I am no Bush fan (even though I voted for him twice) but the blame for this debacle does not fully belong on his doorstep. If memory serves, it was slick Willy who eased the restrictions on Fannie & Freddie which poured gasoline on this smoldering fire.

It is real easy to point your finger at Bush and I didn't vote for him once. It all goes back to the simplify everything to a one word answer for the dumb masses...

Government needs _____ Change
Wallstreet _______ Greed
Financial ______ Handout
Financial ______ Bailout
America needs _____ hope
Republicans are ______ More of the same
Democrats are _______ Change
Experience = _______ more of the same
Inexperince equals _______ change

Slick willy wanted gov programs that made it easier for poor minorities to buy a home... I am not blaming that program for the easy credit and the crisis... but he didn't help.

I didn't mean to imply you thought it was a handout C-gold, just that when you were yelling it wasn't a bailout what you were saying is it wasn't a handout. Nit picking? Maybe, but I have been going round and round with a lot of people the past week, and semantics always seems to get in the way.

I don't consider it a bailout, I'd call it more of a BUY OUT, but yes, the semantics are there. I just feel the media wants to use the exact word that inflicts the most pain/emotion. They want to piss people off.

The market for ignorant financial news is huge.

You guy see Buffet and Goldman Sachs?

another example another rule change

now GS has FDIC backing and will be treated like a commercial bank

plus warren getting 10% divy with the preferred shares....probably bad deal for current investors

chances are GS hedging itself a bit in case hanktator has problems getting as much power as he wants
