Braves could have had Acuna on the cheap for the 19,20,21,22 seasons
The next 1-3 years would have been arbitration years and curious to see what Acuna would be ruled (maybe the highest $$ case ever?)
I wonder if Acuna keeps this pace over the years, in what year would the braves give him an extension (if they do at all). Maybe in year 7 or 8, you sign him for another 5-7 years?
I just dont want to pay him a zillion dollars once he hits the age of 35.

Yeah. And the best he's ever done is 5th in the MVP voting in any of those 3 years.
Take out the 2 week hot streak to start the season in 2021, and that's what you have. Great player. Already one of the best in the MLB. But let's pump the brakes on crowning him #1 in the game 2 weeks into 2021.
The Braves astutely made this offer knowing that with the continued influx of foreign-born players the emerging talent pool of qualified ML players makes it unneccesary to pay *any* man more than $15 to maybe $20m AAV......IF AND ONLY IF they are committed to feeding and maintaining a high level MiL system
