Acuna is a great player, one of the best in the game, and he's officially the best player in the game for the first two weeks of the 2021 season

Bingo. Amazing how people consistently overreact to small sample sizes. He's a great player and on fire right now. But he's gonna need a little more proof of this over a good full season to knock guy's like Trout or Betts off the perch as arguably the best position player in the game.

He's been to one all-star game and finished 12 in the MVP voting last season. Let's pump the brakes here a little on best in the game titles.

Need more of a lengthier resume fellas like years more! You're falling for recency bias and being prisoners of the moment. Mike Trout is the best in the game still and could end up being one of the greatest ever but guess what? He's still working on an already super impressive career. Acuna is a great young talent no doubt but that plant still needs more watering and growth.

The contract he signed was criminal .
I don’t see any way he does not hold out in a few years .

His agent should be fired .
That was the worst contract for a baseball player in the history of sports .

His contract is like the equivalent of mahomes signing a 10 year 100 million contract .

Its that bad.

He is going to be getting paid 25% of market value at best for 10 years .

This guy not a rookie man .
This is year 3 .
I would not call it small sample size at this point

Year 3 dude, easy there. Not exactly a large sample size. He's needs to put in more service time.

Yea 3 years is such a short period of time considering the average MLB career is less then 3 years .

Yea let’s wait another 10 years of watching him dominate baseball before we say he’s good .

he is so much fun to watch. that popout to the second baseman that he tagged up and scored on was great. i wont put him ahead of trout yet but he is one of the few must see players in the game

Don't change the narrative. I already know he's very good and tremendous young talent but he's not the best yet. And yes to be considered great put in the service time in any sport.

Can you at least say he is trending to be the best player in baseball?

He will be the first player in at least 9 or 10 years not named trout to be considered the best player in baseball ?

Disagree that it was "criminal"

Lets rewind. He was no on the opening day roster which means the braves could have held him for 1 more season before arbitration.

Acuna's salary would probably have been under a million dollars a season for his first 3-4 years (i dont know this for a fact) if the braves didnt sign him

The braves wanted to guarantee a crap load of $$ on the front end as they knew they'd get screwed on the back end.

If any contract was CRIMINAL, it would be Ozzie's when he signed a 5 for 30 deal

Yea Ozzie was criminal to but acuna worse.

Yea braves are paying acuna 10 mill a year right now early for 3 years when they could have gave him less then 2 mill.

But the next 7 after that they will be paying him 10 when he is worth over 40 per on the open market
