true maybe a reverse jinx. I was "involved" or invested in 2 big comebacks. As a kid and fan, in attendance in Atlanta for 92 peach bowl with lil ole ECU down 17 points to NC State Wolfpeckers with 8 mins left in 4th quarter, led by QB Jeff Blake (later Bengals and Saints deep throwing QB) and later TE Luke Fisher amazing TD, ECU Knocked off #20 NC State whom i loathed as UNC kid from CH and an ECU fan and later alum. We beat them 37-34 that day.Bowls
Never over
Two halves
Much later and in my last year as a walk on, we played Marshall led by Byron Leftwich, us by David Garrard (coincidentally both would become Jaguars QBs for years with DG Beer truck replacing him), we were up 38-8 at half. Welp, and this still hurts to say, DG comes out of 2nd half and throws a sideways pass at our 15 taken back for a pick 6. Marshall later comes back to take us to OT, and at that time that bowl game was highest scoring ever with Marshall being the victor 64-61.
I much preferred the freshman year beat down to TCU in the mobile bowl because they had LT-Ladanian Tomlinson who we just couldnt tackle. Those comeback losses hurt worse
