You make a come bet, not a place bet. It is explained in detail in a brilliant book " Finding the Edge" by Olaf Vancura. ................... Yes, we take English speaking clients, but we generally don't take kindly to the scalpers, as our lines tend to have an opinion. Additionally, phone bets are difficult as our clerks speak English as a 2nd or 3rd language.

...Was lucky enough to experience a run where a shooter was hot for 45 minutes; not exaterating either. An aboslute madhouse. Dealers yelling at players because of the insane and frantic action. One of the stick men were pissed cuz they couldn't be on the players side of the table! The table even had a pause to refresh some of the quarters and hundreds. But it didn't break the momentum. The roller had another 6-7 points in him before he finally crapped.

Utterly amazing experience. Ceasars - Winter,2002

One guy told me just to play the max odds on all of the pass and come bets. As far as pressing....who knows.

I suppose waiting for the run is the only system.

Being a craps player myself with a 10 year run of staying in the black...craps is a game of patience. Dice are cold 30 minutes and hot for 15... its a matter of timing and having enough balls to bet when the table is ready to giveup the house money...

My favorite time: I walked by a table going to breakfast with my brother in law. He asked me to show him how to play real quick as we were waiting for our wives. No one was at the table, I usually hate that but what the hell it was going to be a short lesson. I put money on the pass line, best bet overall, rolled the dice hit 4. I laid the odds and placed $12 on #8 my favorite number to play. I threw an 8 5 times in a row. With each hit I pressed 1 unit. rolled for about 5 minutes before I hit my 4. I immediatly walked away with a few hundred dollars with my brother in law walking behind me with his jaw dragging on the ground...

There is 1(one) bet you can make...If you can get it down....You have to play BIG.. though...Bet ...we will say $500 on "Dont Pass"....(hope no 7,11,or 2 or 3.. shows)...if a point is established.....ie...4,6,8,9,10,5.....PLACE.. the point for the same amount..$500.....If the 7 shows you break even...if point is made you lose your "DONT BET"...but you win your point bet plus the odds...great bet as I said if you can get it down....."nuff said"... That is the old pass and don't pass system that works ( a real grind) and very hard to find anyone to take any real money on that type of play.

just place max amt on "no 4" and "no 10" and wait for the 7 train to pull into the station , (also , look for the quietest table where everyone looks beat up and pissed , these are usually the tables that are runnin bad for the players, you won't make many friends , but you are there to make $ not friends) Once you get past the come out roll , you are about a 2-1 fav on each roll !! make any sense ?? I dont play but a wise old gambler in Vegas gv me this advice a long time ago and the few times i've used it, it's worked (worth the vig to lay to be 2-1 fav i would think) ............Suppose you could take insurance by plying the 4,10 the hard way , but never really did the math .............maybe someone could enlighten me on this ?

There is NO such thing as a winning system at craps. Every bet that is made has a positive expectation for the house (save the odds bet behind the passline which is break even).

I heard of stories of dice mechanics who could control the dice to some extent but now every casino that I know of insists that both dice hit the wall thus making it impossible to control the dice (unless they are loaded).

Extremepro's suggestion is NOT a winning system. He is correct that if you bet the don't pass and a point is established you can then place the number and guarantee a profit. However, the odds are severly against you when betting the don't pass BEFORE a point is established as there are 8 ways to make a 7 and 11 and only 3 ways to make a 2 or 3 (12 is a push when betting the don't pass).

If anyone tries to sell you some sort of system, run the other way.

I will say they that betting the pass line and taking max odds (some casinos offer up to 100X odds) makes craps the best bet in the casino.

JJ you say all casino players are losers? When i play BJ in a casino 90% of the time it is not a matter of if i win or lose it is a matter of how much i will win!! Money Management plays a very important role in this and if people are able to bite the bullet when they are losing there chances of winning are pretty good! Like anything else it boils down to streaks and when the dealer is on his streak you have to lay low but when you are on your streak you have to be throwing left and right hooks this will compensate for the jabs you were takin from the dealer when he was on his streak!!

Why play craps(the normal variety) when one can play advantageous casino games such as video poker, slots, and BJ?

Other than the entertainment value, there is no reason.

my Dad use to play when I was a kid in razzle dazzle games, he always told me whenever you start seeing doubles, thats the time to play the piano. dice is one of the fastest gambles in the world. if the dice gets hot you can win the whole table cloth, I"ve seen it done before. I seen a guy one night in LV hold the dice for like 45 minutes. he had the table loaded. I also seen people lose alot in 15 minutes. I really believe thats the only way you have any indication that it might be a nice run, if doubles starts showing.

2 guaranteed systems:

1. stand by a very heavy player (i mean heavy - PLAYING $500-$1000 on the pass) and yourself play $25 on the pass line to keep your exposure minimal. roll well and the whale will tip you HEAVY.

2. when someone is not looking, take their chips from them. lol :suomi:

Some Midwest Riverboats and Florida Day Cruises have a last 3 rolls rule or a last shooter rule due to time or location restraints. Placeline and Come bets have a positive expectation on the comeout roll and only have a negative expectation should the player shoot until a final result is determined. One can make bets with a long term positive expectation if he waits until this time to play. Additionally, one can guarantee a profit of around $150 by hedging a last 3 rolls Riverboat Casino with an any 7 bet. .............. Seems like a lot of work, as well as a lot of sitting around, but Hell, you asked!

Best advice yet, this is similar to what I used to do. Normally I wouldn't have the patience for it but as poker closed down a little earlier then craps this worked out very well. I'd go after the card game ended and wait for the last 3 rolls as they were always close anyway. Almost impossible to lose this way, only a rash of craps could do you in the way I bet it.

PS - there is no winning "system" to craps. If you played long enough you would go broke as the house has the edge over you no matter what you do. Stick to poker is my advice.

One person was killed and two others wounded on the Tennessee State University campus after a shooting late Thursday. The shooting came after an argument between two men about a dice game in a courtyard. Neither men attended the school.

</center>The shooting was reported at 11 p.m. CT and it's unclear if the shooter is in custody.
University spokeswoman Kelli Sharpe told the Associated Press that the man who died was not a student at the school. The other two wounded victims were students and were brought to a hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening, Sharpe said. No other injuries were reported and students were escorted safely back to their residence halls.
WZTV reported the victims were transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. According to The Tennessean, police were taping off the entrance to the school and telling everyone who doesn't attend the school to leave.
The incident comes just over a week after three people were wounded by gunfire at an off-campus party across the street from the college.
