I get a lot of calls daily on my cell with the same prefix. I dont answer as i know they are b/s calls.

However once in a while i'll give out my ss# and my mom's maiden name.

Block all these numbers. But they just keep coming back..

I also don't answer any calls from numbers I don't know
They could leave a message if they need to reach me.

What if Belichick is trying to get a hold of you to finally finish that Butler trade?

It can be a bit startling, to get an incoming call from your own number and see your own photo staring back at you. But if you get a call like this, the safest thing to do is not pick up.

There's a scam going around the Lubbock area, where people pretending to call from your own number claim your account has been "flagged for security" and ask you to enter the last four digits of your social security number.
This scam is affecting multiple carriers. We have reports of AT&T and Verizon so far, with multiple people reporting phishing attempts on social media.
No authentic carrier will ever call and ask for your social security number. It's a bad idea to give out your social security number to a caller under any circumstances. Even if you think the call is legitimate, it's always best to call back at the official number listed by the business (not a number they give you over the phone) and initiate the call yourself.
If you're concerned about someone gaining access to your account with your social security number, carriers will allow you to set a passcode to access the account instead.
Just be sure to remember it for future calls.

i get an average of 6/day on my land line (also my office phone) and 3/day on my cell and now most of these calls will mirror the first 6 numbers on those lines

so if my cell is 412-222-4444 the first 6 numbers that pop up are 412-222 to mask it like it's a call from my neighborhood

agree it's gotten out of control and if anyone truly knows how to stop it, please PM me

I'm on all the DONOTCALL lists and obviously doesn't make a shit bit of difference

I get 10+ calls a day. Mostly about student loans. I had to stop clearing out my voicemails because it became such a chore. My VM have been full now for about a month.
