Is Jonathon Toews the best player in hockey right now?

Toews is much better player then Stamkos in my opinion.

Ovechkin and Toews is kinda apples to oranges - winger vs center. Ovechkin is a better pure scorer of course.

Position don`t matter....Both are elite goal scorers.

With that said.....Ovechkin is the best like I said.....Just my opinion.

Of course position matters. If it was a conversation about who was the best goal scorer in the league it's not even thread-worthy.

But centers cover more ice, are more important defensively, do more orchestration and passing, take face offs, etc.

A center's importance to his team goes far beyond goal scoring. That's why position matters in this discussion.

Probably third best......on his own team! You could argue that Keith and Kane are better! Best player in hockey right now Price. Vezina, Hart and Ted Lindsay award will back this up.

Don't think you can simply pick the "best" hockey player. So many different factors, intangibles, positions and roles. But yeah he is in the discussion...but a discussion may be all you'll get.

Ehhhhhh, that's kind of a different question. I was just curious what your answer would be.

I should have said best skater not best player, cause when you throw in how valuable goaltenders are it becomes a bit murky.

ya and also defencemen .

Put it this way , if I had my first pick at #10 and he was available still, I probably would take him. Hell of a player. Not trying to diminish his excellence at all. He's definitely a top tier player.
