Sorry guys for replying a bit late to this oh so interesting thread. I just did not find a suitable moment yet to do it.
This Victor Chandler style of bookmaking is something that is nice in my point of view to catch a few of those limies living on that Island somewhere in between the European Mainland and the USA, but it did never cross my mind as something workable in Asia. I know a few guys that in recent months decided to go into (and for some even online) bookmaking. All guys that understand how markets work, but that know fvck all about European football handicapping. It is a little bit of the Caribbean revisited here in Asia now. They asked me if I wanted to join them. Knowing how things are going terribly wrong in the Caribbean I told them that I would only be willing to join a Victor Chandler style of shop. I was instantly told by these guys that that is unethical, so I wished them Good Luck.
For a long time there was this idea on the European football that as long as you were taking bets on the favourite, you were ok. New books that would enter the market and started doing this very same thing were all going to do ok. As you can imagine this starts to create competition. I discovered that favourites were getting more and more attractive. I actually already posted about it in the football forum even before this thread started:

These days I think the books here in Asia have gone totally crazy on these favourites or the big guys have started manipulating the market. Lets say I think they are at least aware of it. I may be wrong here, but what I think is that they will take the action on these too attractive favourites and lay it off with the middle sized books that do no different than copying their lines. We are now dealing with a period in which all these favourites do not even seem to stop winning too, as a consequence I am not seeing that many happy faces!
