technically. then again, so would a person of white south african descent.

guy I went to law school with (white south african, born and raised there when he wasn't in european boarding schools) got a full ride on a scholarship intended for blackies/negros/brothas b/c of the school's attempt at political correctness in their application wording. Said something to the effect of "Of African Descent" so he checked the box and they threw money at him (went to Brown, good grades, high LSAT). someone called him on it once and his response was "I am more African than X (one of the black guys in our class)."

How about referring to a black person as colored?

Many black people take offense to this however their main organization is called NAACP National Association for the Advancement of COLORED people.

Instead of black or african american or excessive melanin pigmentation we should just call them colored. ope::drink::smoker2:

Negro is OK, just kind of dated, as is colored ( sounds like something Archie Bunker would say).

Afro-American is too cumbersome, plus they don't call themselves that very often.

Black seems to be fine with all, that's what I use.

When I was at FSU,,,, I managed an apartment complex,,(free rent, not bad) well,, we rented to 50% FSU students and 50% FAMU students,, my complex was quite diverse,,,, and every FALL,,, lol,,, I thought it was so funny that as I had to have every applicant filll out a sheet for residency, on 20-30 applications from my dark brothers,,, there honestly was NOT a real consensus as to their Race,,, it seemed they were slightly confused,,,

well,, those that went to FAMU mostly put Afro American, or African, or american Indian,,, and those that went to FSU Mostly put black. I did have a few negros put down,,,, 1 guy put slightly sun burnt,,, lololol,,, I rented the Apt. to him lololol. He was getting his doctorate in philosophy,,,
