HaHa...Just figured out you can simply download kodi on your computer and follow all the directions in that video and you don't even have to buy a stick...I just did everything in that video step by step and it took me less than an hour to do...Trust me if I can do that anyone can...However I am glad I got the stick because you can take it with you wherever you go and plug into anyone's tv...On the file navi?(under splash tv i think) I am watching the most amazing latino porn possible...Haha I don't hate messicans, just the illegal ones...You know like "The Donald"...

Just some cord cutting and switching to netflix/hulu/amazon prime I don't think they can really do much about besides offer better packages to consumers.

I do wonder if the big media companies get far more proactive and strict on piracy once it really starts to hit their bottom line because more and more people are using the methods you are using. Who knows how long that takes though.

They probably just adjust and offer more customization in their packages.

But is streaming unlicensed content online illegal? Jim Gibson, director of the Intellectual Property Institute at the University of Richmond law school, told Business Insider that streaming online content breaks the law in only two cases.
“When the user downloads even part of a file — called “pseudo-streaming” — it counts as a copy of copyrighted material, which is illegal. And when the user streams content as a “public performance” — namely, when it’s shown to a substantial number of people outside the normal family circle and its close acquaintances — it also constitutes a copyright violation.”
Outside of these cases, accessing unlicensed streamed content is generally legal.
On the other side of the screen, however, uploading or posting unlicensed streamed content is illegal — even if it’s free, according to Gibson. “That’s the most basic part of copyright — protection of your work. When someone uploads a video online, they’re literally making a copy,” he said.
Online streaming sites avoid trouble by not hosting their own content, instead acting as a search engine for links to streamed content, usually embedded from a secondary site. In that case, determining accountability requires the “inducement rule,” a test created in a 2005 Supreme Court ruling which states that a company or website can only be held accountable for distributing unlicensed content if it clearly encourage users to infringe a copyright.

HaHa...

You know, GM can make a car. You can use it as a getaway car in a bank robbery, or you can use it to get work. So we don’t say that GM is on the hook just because it provides a technology that can be used illegally,” Gibson said. The same goes for streaming websites.

If the NFL took a 70% hit on Sunday Ticket sales then they won't be thinking that is the correct way to interpret the law, I can guarantee that.

Just tough to say what would come of it.

Napster and the early music sites lost the battle in court but ultimately they won the war and disrupted the music industry forever.

You guys are missing out...There is a new App called "the beast" that can be downloaded on Kodi...All the sports movies and tv shows you would ever want...Picking up 4 firesticks tomorrow already loaded and ready to go...Don't forget you can just download Kodi to your computer and then "google search Kodi beast" and do your own thing...However I chose to buy the firestick, because I did not want to tie up computer...

I was actually gonna bump this thread myself a few days ago.

I read that amazon is cracking down on people downloading the Kodi program and putting it on firesticks, how doable is this and will it work?

Kodi does seem like a real game changer but I just wonder how long it lasts.

While I do not know for sure but I think amazon will change their code or whatever...However the ones already on the street should be good, but there will always be a work around by someone..It most definitely does work as I have watched countless hours of movies etc in just a week..And that was without "the beast" which I am getting tomorrow...Go over and talk to Bushay...I have my own guy here locally, just because I did not want to deal with someone on a forum...I do know these things are selling out fast, but my Best Buy still had about 40 or so left...

So this software enables you to watch live television? I'm not familiar with Kodi. Can you explain it?

No i cannot explain it...Much to complex for a rube like me...However I picked up my sticks today with the beast installed and have had zero problems and if I live to be 150 there is no way possible I would be able to see everything on it...Go over and buy one from Bushay...Would send you to my guy but I am not sure he would like to give the same customer service that Bushay seems to give as far as answering questions etc because he is not a member of these forums...I see the pats guy and bounceback guy have inquired...

Why do you need to buy the sticks from him and not amazon? Because they come with the beast installed?

Couldn't I just buy my own firesticks and install the beast kodi myself?

edit: Went back and read your previous posts in this thread and it seems the firesticks mainly are good for mobility and traveling. Can just get kodi for windows w/o even purchasing one.

Thanks for the tip Buster

Of course...I had already said that in an earlier post that I was able to install kodi on computer without even having to buy stick, and also stated about the beast to just select windows version and install...But for me it was simpler to just pay a guy to install on fire stick because my computer monitor is also my tv so I could not access both internet and tv at the same time...So watch the videos by googling fire stick beast and have at it...

What I have found amazing is that you can search movies by year all the way back to 1970 and they all pop up and you simply click play and they appear and you are able to watch...We are talking about 45 years of movies...Also tv shows..The sports crap will always be able to be found, but stuff like movies and tv shows are amazing...
