Luka's D is horrible and so is Giannis' jumpshot and free throws. You be the judge.

Giannis averaged 30 pts had 16 boards and 6 assists in the first rd vs the Magic.

Giannis sucked last nite as the HEAT match up against him VERY WELL.

He has sucked at free throws.

One is a soon to be 2 time MVP and DPOY. Already part of a group of 5 and 3 player to ever do that... The other has never won a play off series. But heck, Giannis lost game 1 of the second round so obviously Dionic is better.

And Luka is a fantastic player, but this argument is simply stupid. As when people compared Dirk to Bird immediately after Dirk won his championship or Kobe/lebron to jordan.

The gamblers fallacy of small sample sizes. Obviously if Bucks had won game 1 this thread is never started.

Or maybe if the Bucks didn't lose in the playoffs as a fav last year this thread never would have happened. Milwaukee hasn't won an important game in all of the time the superstar has been there and they continue to under achieve. Luka plus four years is a deal no GM would turn down.

Continue to underachieve? The Bucks just became a championship contender last season. Hasn't won an important game? Were the 2nd round games not important last season(won games 2,3,4,5)? Because ur saying he lost an important game in the 2nd round this year. Were games 1 and 2 not important in the conference finals last season? As once again game 1 of the 2nd round was obviously important for you this season.

Funny. As this was said about Jordan early on. All he can win are scoring championships and his teams always underachieve.

Blowing that 2-0 lead vs Toronto was BAD last year
The bucks got VERY good games out of Lopez and Middleton last nite and lost. If the bucks cant get out of the 2nd round, Giannis is going to be hearing about it

He's in a tough series as the HEAT matchup very well vs the Bucks

Toronto was a better team top to bottom, they won the series. Toronto even losing Kawhi isn't much worse than Milwaukee this year. If the Bucks lost Giannis, how good do you think they would be? There was nothing "BAD" about it, they lost a playoff series. 2 teams play, 1 team wins, ask Bill Belichick.

I know the ESPN/FS1 is strong but cmon now

I agree it was bad. But they were double overtime away from 3-0.

Some of you are making him out to be another Tracy McGrady. He lost in the conference finals in the first year milwaukee had a competitive team. He simply lost game 1(they also lost game one to Boston last year in similar fashion) this season.

If they lose this series to the Heat i'll lean to more of the perspectives on here, but to jump on him over game 1 is wildly premature.

edit: i also love we are talking sports here, way to go guys. :103631605

Oh no no no.. NOT T-Mac at all. I think Giannis is AWESOME. But losing 2 years in a row when favored would NOT be good. Think Lebron in Cleveland in 08-09 and 09-10.

Someone is going to break the bank to pay him. And he is WORTH the $$. But if he cant bring the bucks a championship or an NBA finals appearance, who knows if he stays in Wisky?

If a California boy like Christian Yelich signs on for 9 more years with the Brewers, it goes to show only the media members who have never been to Milwaukee or the last time they set foot in Milwaukee was in the 1980's, and still think they have some sort of insight of how awful Milwaukee is and everyone is so desperate to be in California or New York, I think Giannis and the Bucks will be just fine even if they don't win a championship this season.

But yes, nothing is 100 percent. But the narrative that the Bucks must win this season or Giannis will demand to be trade is absurd.

He wont demand a trade.

But he is a UFA next summer.

If the bucks dont make the finals this year or the next, he could jump ship

Of course, any star could. You don't see the media go "o the lakers better win the championship this season or AD might jump ship"

The media has just within the last year or so stopped trying to get everyone to go to the Knicks. Now they try to funnel everyone to GS.

Giannis could leave Milwaukee but i find it highly unlikely even if they don't win a championship in the next few seasons.

I think if Giannis was leaving he would make a trade demand. It really isn't as bad as it sounds. It's basically the player telling the team to get something for him so he won't leave for nothing when he signs with someone else as UFA.

It's actually a courtesy to your current team. Has basically turned into the 2 weeks notice in basketball.

I have a bet he is not on the Bucks for the 2021-2022 season contingent on the Bucks not winning the title this year or next.

Owners have made some cheap moves despite having a taxpayer funded stadium and being billionaires. Pretty weak to skimp when you got a generational talent.

Losing gets old, media/fans start calling you overrated, saying other guys are better, you can’t win a ring, etc

One caveat is that I made the bet before the rona hit and no clue how that impacts future CBA/salary cap stuff.

I'll make sure to bump this after Milwaukee wins the championship.

Doncic with the much higher ceiling? Hahahaa. What is Giannis ceiling? Greatest player ever?

I love when people start this stuff obviously all based off of a single game.

edit: Doncic didn't dominate that series obviously Kawhi Leonard did.

Milwaukee has some work to do but I'm sure a guy like Giannis with a ceiling as high as his can bring them back no problem.
