I just got back from Singapore and the Philippines. I always buy Premium Economy ticket. Lots more leg room for that 14 hour flight from San Francisco.

It's really a nice flight. It leaves around 8pm. You get a meal after takeoff. Watch a movie on the entertainment system and then it's lights out. After 8 hours or so the lights come on and it's another meal. Just a few hours to go until you arrive.

In the Philippines I went to Cebu City. Not really a tourist destination but I was meeting friends. One night I stayed at a resort that cost $85 on airbnb and it was tropical luxury so staying at tropical resorts is the way to go. Other destinations my friends stayed at was Palawan and Boracay. Palawan is ranked #3 travel destination in the world.

That’s how it was down on Colombia. I’m not a “resort” type guy. But some of the historic hotels were $10.

I splurged on an Airbnb in Choachí. It was $30. The host was very nice and made me a helluva Colombian breakfast.

My friend stayed at a hotel in the city which was sold out. She paid $11 and it was damn nice too.

Baguio is a cool place to visit also. Up in the mountains , completely different vibe than most anywhere else in the Phillipines

you ain't kidding huge . I almost took a job with them in redding when I got out of Navy. Wife from Washington and for some crazy reason we moved east coast . often wonder what it would have been like . Went from working on airplanes to building swimming pools . Gotta love this country as fucked up as it seems still best place to live.
